You are dead right about lasses not doing football then, I had many battles being accused of only going because I wanted to look at footballers legs, I had people challenge me as to what I knew about football, me mates used to tell them, don’t go there, before I made them look silly.

Same when I was at school. I was the only girl into football. Had more lad friends than lass friends as I used to sit with them and talk footy.

I blame that on my Dad! When I was little, I used to love spending weekends with my Dad. We'd do "jobbing on" which was DIY jobs round the house, gardening, washing the car etc. We'd have the radio on in the background with "it's a gooooaaaaaallllllllll" on Radio Newcastle. We'd finish for the day and go in and watch the results coming through on the videprinter and watch final score. After tea, my Mam would bath me and get me ready for bed while he walked over to Savacentre for a Football Echo, then he'd read it to me instead of a bedtime story. Love me Dad

:)

Me dad has us brainwashed with lots of things, if he watched it I watched it, so I knew the rules to rugby and snooker from watching pot black with him.
I also never got girls games, my board games were things like totopoly and campaign.
Love me dad too
