MOTD - [Chelsea at The SOL]

To be fair to the prick he's a lot more complementary here, around 11 mins.

I bet they talk about Chelsea more than us, i’ll actually time it
They did.
Put it iPlayer after reading this thread, dear me… how poor are Shearer and Rooney as pundits man! When you think back to the likes Hansen and Lawrenson, I didn’t always like their opinions but at least they had charisma and some decent analysis of the game, you can see these 2 are so uncomfortable speaking that when they’re finished their heads freeze up and look like they’re going to explode.
They are a waste of license payers hard earned money. Shearer never said anything complimentary about our players or team, whilst Rooney being unable to ne coherent at the best of times didn't mention us at all. They did talk about Chelsea though. It's a piss take for has been. You only have to look at their records as managers and you'll see they have taken the easy way out.

That shit the BBC put out last night was embarrassing and a huge waste of licence fees. Fair enough Pep is leaving and Arsenal came back from bottling the league but so much was left unsaid about West Ham and spurs relegation battle which is to say nothing of their total lack of interest in Sunderland. We got about 5 minutes at the back end of the program.

Far too much talking and far too many “what do you think” questions from Kelly Cates. Absolutely no serious analysis or tactical talk just pure bollocks.

It's become embarrassing, I've said it before, no other sets of fans have to put up with this from the BBC, why do we have to?
I do thing his persona to Sunderland on MOTD has a heavy dose of pantomime even if Shearer himself doesn't consciously realise it.

Like I think Newcastle fans and Shearers friends do the whole anti-sunderland schtick so much that on MOTD he's almost physically waving a clenched fist around to play up to it all.

That, or he's just a bell end.
