Done well sushi, and more particularly sashimi is gorgeous. The problem is the stuff you tend to get in supermarkets is bland dry cack in comparison

People get it for lunch saying " I just love sushi".

Go to a decent Japanese restaurant and try it, there's loads around in London these days. Sushi is rice with vinegar essentially, often wrapped in seaweed and with any number of fillings or toppings which could be fish, but often vegetable.

Salmon. I eat it, I'll even enjoy it but it seems to be venerated as the Gold Standard of fish for some reason when there are meatier, tastier, more delicately flavoured fish for half the price.

Fair enough, I agree with you on the American influenced takeaway slop served in most places.

Bit chilli marinated mackerel on a barbie man, delicious.

Overrated foods, I don't really know, I love food as long as it's cooked or prepared well so I'd have to just go generically for any poorly prepared food. I've had minging steaks and delicious steaks, minging sushi and delicious sushi, owt that's over seasoned or just plain bland as well.

Fair. I'd be inclined to agree, I love steak so getting a poor one is bad. I'm not a fan of sushi, but if I got something really tasty I'd be delighted.
