Mortimer & Whitehouse Gone Fishing

I have Bobs book. Don’t like the first chapter and struggled to get into it.

Instead I am torturing my self with a heavy read about the truth regarding the cracking of Enigma.

Turns out Turing and Bletchley were not quite so involved as history would portray. The Poles were early pioneers and there were spies and espionage heavily involved.
The Poles were early pioneers and they escaped Europe to come to the UK. There’s a big bit at Bletchley itself about it, and a memorial to the Poles that dies to get the secrets out of Poland. Bletchley then built on it.

I’d you ever get the chance to go, and get a tour, it’s brilliant.

Cheers good info there. The book I’m reading is written by one of Turings relatives but it sounds like Bletchley park would be a good visit 👍

The Poles cracked Enigma when it had 3 rotors. The Nazis added a fourth rotor which rendered a lot of their work obsolete. Andrew Hodges 1983 book on Turing covers this.

His book was ok, lol in few bits but must admit wasnt as funny as I thought it would be. I was surprised at his lack of self confidence, different to his TV persona.

When the hell did they move the new series to a Thursday night at 10

Just noticed it ffs
Ignore me it’s a repeat I’ve had a mare

Unusual person, Bob Morrimer. He just seems so.warm and engaging. There doesn't seem an edge to him at all and I really cannot imagine anyone not liking him. Rare indeed.
