Mortimer & Whitehouse Gone Fishing

Loved it …… really good tv that just works those two together, although the friendship is more Bob than Paul I think

Gazza was a hard watch feel for the lad at times

Brilliant series that j just love to watch and I have no idea about fishing at all.

I do agree with what has been says though, where was the pease pudding !!!

Just really nice telly, not sure why it works so well, but it does.
I've never done or been interested in fishing, but I'm starting to see the appeal. I live just down from where they were fishing and the village has a angling club with rights to a tiny bit of the Tyne for about £35 a year.
It is great telly. I think they just act as good mates do.

Although I don't fish, I'm a keen walker. The show reminds me of the walks I go on with one of my brother's in law or with my son, we just talk shit all day and take the piss out of each other in a very gentle way. It also gives us the opportunity to talk about things that might be getting on top of us. A bit like informal therapy.

Nicely put.
It's one of life's simple pleasures, simply 'talking shit'. Did a couple of big walks in the lakes between lockdowns last year with mates to catch up, you spend about 6 hours talking, after the Mrs asks what you talked about, and it was just 'shite'. No phones, no social media, just talking.

I came across it a couple of weeks back and found it very unsettling.

I am 70 in a few days and I don't have any major ailments but i don't want to watch a couple of blokes almost a decade younger than me discussing their chronic heart conditions and the prospect of their imminent demise. I will be a lot sooner than even they think if they keep standing up to their waists in freezing water for hours end.

I bought my dad the audio book of bob’s autobiography- he’s in hospital atm quite poorly- and he also found the bits where he is in hospital for his heart bypass unsettling. But otherwise he loved it.

I have Bobs book. Don’t like the first chapter and struggled to get into it.

Instead I am torturing my self with a heavy read about the truth regarding the cracking of Enigma.

Turns out Turing and Bletchley were not quite so involved as history would portray. The Poles were early pioneers and there were spies and espionage heavily involved.
