That is good I think we have moved on as well. In any game the dressing room has to right. I cannot help but think his recall will have an opposite affect.

I agree, I know you need mavericks in the dressing room, and its not about being mates. But there is a fine line.

I just don't think he is the batsman he was, much like Trott, thats the main reason he shouldn't be recalled


the likes of Lyth, Hales, Taylor all in the queue first.
 
I agree with Moores removal as head coach but the way it has been handled is a disgrace. For all his short comings Moores is a decent person who deserved to be treated as such.
Whoever within the ECB leaked Moores sacking, they should also be sacked.
Please tell me is Gordon Muchall No1 Fan an Ex Test Player or Ex ECB administrator ?????
 
yet again the smb cricket forum was right. unaminous when he was appointed, it was a mistake and all correct again, now he departs.

i think it was @essex boy who put up stephen fleming. i agree he could be a decent man to come in.

by the way, is Otis still employed?

Moores is a good bloke

I wanted him gone but I have found the attitude to him, even on here, distasteful to be honest. You can want someone gone without being aggressive about it.

He just doesn't have the edge of a top level coach

I think he would be perfect as a Lions coach

I do find it a bit double standard that loads of journalists are saying its a disgrace how its been handled, when they were the fuckers who printed the rumours

If you didn't like it, don't run the story

Everyone seems to be assuming the ECB leaked it deliberately. Is there any proof?

The journos will all know the sources so if they're attacking the ECB over it, it'll be them.

Also, it has been a very leaky organisation recently.

I cannot believe that the ECB Chief Executive Harrison made him rush back from the Caribbean to Ireland to the pack of wolves to then sack him.
Surely he should of been told not to go to Ireland and the announcement made.
The story was too accurate for it not to of been leaked.
 
Good news this, fair play to Moores he tried his best but definitely the right decision. Good start from Strauss.

I still maintain the coach is not as important as people make out

For me the most important aspects are the captain and the selectors, I have never played international cricket mind so just my opinion.

I don't usually jump on the bandwagon, especially when its to do with Yorkshire, but I do like gillespie and the way he talks, laid back but harsh when needed. Absolutely no bullshitting either which is what I think people will respond to.

Moores really was a poor appointment, he should never have been in that position. For me the results weren't even the issue, whoever came in would of struggled after the 5-0 with a new team, but you can just tell he isn't up to it.

As I said earlier, I would put him incharge of the Lions and stuff. Which is where several of the Test squad should be for now IMO, the likes of Jordan and Woakes should be touring with them, not 1st change in our Test team.

I honestly don't think Chris Jordan would get in Durham's team, I am not sure if anyone else agrees?
