Yellows last year:
8 in 35
13 in 26

Club Games / Yellows / Reds since Catts joined:
138/20/1
78/29/5

So, not that similar really. ;)

Astonishing that anyone can defend his disciplinary record, it's absolutely disgraceful.

I just looked at in the league last year tbh. Thought that was what we would be referrin to. What happened 3 years ago means little to me in this instance.

He made a good run with the ball, it got slightly ahead of him and he tried to redeem himself with the challenge. Wasn't nasty or owt, just a bit over zealous, still a probable red mind. Some of the comments on here are a bit pathetic tbh. Why do supporters have to have a hate figure when theres nowt really to hate?

Good post. Wasted on here.

And that's what I put first, a booking every other game for Cattermole while it's around 4.5 games per yellow for Cole.

Absolutely nothing like each other.

Despite the fact that he's a decent player we have to admit that he's a disciplinary nightmare on (and more than a couple of times off) the pitch and hasn't learnt anything in the 5 five years he's been playing top flight football.

7 seven years

Edit 6 six years.

there's lots to like about Lee but there's also some concerns, especially as team captain.
he's got to learn to control his agression and channel it. maybe a old head alongside him would do him wonders, unfortunately we don't have one.

Nice post.

He makes a significant contribution with his capacity to break up attacks. Many have said this and I agree with them. However ...

23 games last season due to injury and suspension.
Lack of creativity
Not really a captain.

I've said before and I'll say it agains suspensions are something we have to accept will happen with Catts. He's not going to change.

He's not very bright.

I don't think suspensions are something we have to accept. It was his first time ever being given a straight red for us. All other times were 2 yellows and with a bit more cop on I think he should be able to learn to reign it in while on a yellow and avoid lengthy suspensions. That's his problem and what has led to his bad reputation for getting reds.

Players of his type and of similar position are often getting yellows..Scholes has 90 yellows and counting ( another 30 in the champions league) but has less reds than Cattermole. I'v no problem with player like Cattermole picking up yellows in a match...its gonna happen. Song, Parker, Nevile, Barry, Viera...look at how many yellows those guys have got. All well over 70.

The thing those players are better at and also what Catts has to learn is to reign it in a bit when on a yellow. Just a small bit more cop on. Cos people never talk about yellows...only bout the reds and hence his bad reputation.

says challenge was "senseless" and didnt look happy in the after match interview.

Non of his sendings off have invoved game saving actions, I find these constant petulant actions irresponsible and frustrating. He knows the Ref's reputation(s) and how his own reputation precedes him, but he never learns

When I he got the ball and started getting forward Isaid to my cousin "see, this is not what he does, someone else needs to be doing the dribbling" lost control of the ball and whack!
