You can't seriously be comparing him to any of those players?
no hence why i mentioned the step up in ability.
But my point stands, people thinking Cattermole is a liability would shit themselves with a Gattuso or a Cambiasso in his place.

its the game they play, they are midfield enforcers if you will, as much as i hate the term, Scholes, Keane, Cattermole are tough tackling mid fielders whos aim is to break up play, get the ball to the more attacking players, they are going to be more susceptible to getting Red Cards because of the more physical style of their play, they harry, they get the ball by hook or crook and distribute it to the players who are better on the ball.
The difference between them players and Catts despite the obvious step up in ability is they got forward and scored, but look at the like of Makelele, Viera, Cambiasso, Marcos Senna and Gattuso were prone to stupid rash tackles and getting sent off, were never prolific for midfielders but are revered for how they played.
Amazing what a foreign name can do for a players reputation, if any of those played here the precious twats on here would be having kittens
its th only stats i can find, most seem to start in 2003
He'll be back in after the suspension, no sout about that. He is the far best player we have at his job.
Not one of them would have failed to control the ball in the way Cattermole did tonight, and very frequently does, that left him needing to lunge in like that.
Ironic
every player has flaws, Cattermoles is he is slow and he has no first touch but when was the last time you saw Cattermole lunge in like that?

Granted they were hot-headed, but they kept the ball fantastically well and had a lovely first touch, Cattermole doesn't
The last round of the same competition, against Morecambe. Four matches ago.![]()

But you could also look at the relativity to them and their clubs. They played for top European clubs and won Champions League medals. We are an average mid table PL club. The style of play of the players is subject to relativity surely?
Best and most important midfield player at the club. Absolute disaster that he's missing for three games and deserves the arse kicking that he'll undoubtedly get; but he'll be straight back in when his suspension is up and rightly so.
It is yes, though you have to be a top player to play for these clubs. Hence him playing for Boro, Wigan and us
We really are an average team if he's the most important midfielder we've got
says challenge was "senseless" and didnt look happy in the after match interview.
Code:
I hate to break it to you but yes he is, and yes we are.
so one in four games then?
id be happy with that tbh, im not saying hes the greatest in the world, im just saying some people just cant see what he does bring to the team, we were piss weak against Swansea when he came off because we had noone to do his job in the middle
