Hopefully he is now last resort for a place in the team

Next few games could be a big turning point for us

It sounded senseless...I really thought he was starting to learn.

It's not like he's a particularly dirty player, he just does stupid tackles. Remember he red card against Wigan? That was one of the stupidest moments on a football field I've ever seen.

He is not dirty - he is just very slow, has terrible control and is totally thick

All of which combine to make him a f***ing knacker who gets into more trouble than its worth

absolutely but he still came close to getting the ball, other clubs see him as a scumbag who gets sent off every week, in reality he gets booked for the same challenges Gerrard and co get away with.

says challenge was "senseless" and didnt look happy in the after match interview.

Excellent news and I would expect nothing less from a manager like MON, let's hope he is stripped of the captaincy as well.

This is definitely true. Steven Gerrard has committed some disgusting challenges over the years. He IS a dirty player.

this

From Gary Bennett's reaction the referee was right to send him off but I just wonder if Atwell would have the bottle to do the same to Gerrard, Scholes or Lampard???

He made a good run with the ball, it got slightly ahead of him and he tried to redeem himself with the challenge. Wasn't nasty or owt, just a bit over zealous, still a probable red mind. Some of the comments on here are a bit pathetic tbh. Why do supporters have to have a hate figure when theres nowt really to hate?

but he is rarely picked up on it, if he is then the ref is accused of being biased against him etc.

Cattermole imo is over zealous in his attempts to do something, usually causing him to fuck up and get a stupid booking but i dont think ive ever seen him put in a malicious tackle where the intent is to injure, Carragher and Gerrard on the other hand do nothing but blast in feet first again and again but rarely get booked never mind sent off.
