MLS rule changes - Good or bad to bring in the English game?

The subbed players rule would be interesting to see un action.

I also dunno why the rule-makers haven't considered that when a player is deemed to be time-wasting when restarting play then their team forfeits possession. Currently, the individual might incur the wrath of an official pointing at their watch, or, more seriously, get a yellow card which has little effect on the game. If they knew that they could potentially concede possession well into their half they may speed up a bit.

The 3rd one has already been implemented in to the game in England.
That’s an interesting one. So wasting time over a freekick gives the kick to the oppo? Or a gk gives a corner or something. That’s not bad imo

Mic the refs up like rugby (and I think the womens world cup) so we can understand whats going on. might lessen the back talk from players too if its amplified.
Show a big clock that stops when the ref stops his watch too for transparency

First one is a nonsense. Big centre forward smashes into your keeper injuring him and you are then forced to play 2 minutes without a keeper? It’s nonsensical and will be taken advantage of by unscrupulous teams who are a goal down in injury time and fancy their chances more if they can get rid of the keeper for a couple of minutes.

Only change I want to see is a sin bin replacing yellow cards so the opposition gets the benefit of the booking not somebody else down the line when they are suspended.

- Players who are down receiving treatment for more than 15 seconds must remain on the sidelines for 2 minutes
Presumably has a caveat that if its a foul then they dont have to leave the pitch, sure thats how it works over here now. As you say its bizarre that a team can get a free kick for a foul and the be a man down for that free kick.
- Substituted players must leave the pitch within 10 seconds.
This is fine providing there is a worthwhile punishment for it not happening. Booking them is pointless unless it potentially leads to a red card. In reality it should just be a case of the ref making sure they add the correct time back on if a player takes too long. Also the change where players can leave the pitch anywhere and walk round sort of removes the need for this.
- Stadium clocks must show injury time and go past '45 and '90 minutes.
Already happening here
- VAR decisions announced by the referee.
Pointless unless they actually give a proper explanation which they wont. It will be the same as the Womens World Cup where all they did was say "after review the decision is <insert decision>" with no reasoning giving as to why it was done so actually just made VAR process a bit longer!

The new rules are exclusively for the MLS 24/25, but would you have them brought into the English game?

I think staying off for 30 seconds in England is ridiculous never mind 2 minutes.

Imagine getting snapped by an opposition player and you get punished for it
