MLS rule changes - Good or bad to bring in the English game?

The new rules are exclusively for the MLS 24/25, but would you have them brought into the English game?

- Players who are down receiving treatment for more than 15 seconds must remain on the sidelines for 2 minutes
- Substituted players must leave the pitch within 10 seconds.
- Stadium clocks must show injury time and go past '45 and '90 minutes.
- VAR decisions announced by the referee.

The subbed players rule would be interesting to see un action.

I also dunno why the rule-makers haven't considered that when a player is deemed to be time-wasting when restarting play then their team forfeits possession. Currently, the individual might incur the wrath of an official pointing at their watch, or, more seriously, get a yellow card which has little effect on the game. If they knew that they could potentially concede possession well into their half they may speed up a bit.

The 3rd one has already been implemented in to the game in England.

I’d like the refs to play the proper added time, amazing how many times you get a minimum of 5 mins added time and the ref blows on exactly 5 mins.
Also refs playing advantage, the clue is in the word advantage, simply still having the ball doesn’t mean you have advantage when a free kick would be more beneficial.

I have no idea why they can't make subs whilst the game is going, other sports can do it. The 4th official stands there like a prize twat for most of the game, make them do something to earn their money.

The top one - 2 minutes is shite.
For example..Ballard gets a whack and it takes him 20 secs to clear his head with the physio. That would leave us without him for two minutes

The first one has issues when you can end up punishing players who are legitimately injured by opposition players and then have to sit out for 2 minutes, there needs to be a way to make the player doing the fouling also sit out. But then you will get players faking injury to have the opposition's players sit out for 2 minutes.

One way to speed up the subs would be to have multiple boards so when 2/3 subs happen at the same time all the players can leave the field together, doing one at a time is a crazy waste of time.

About the injured players

always boiled my urine

why doesn’t the player who committed the foul gan off for the same length of
time for the injured player to be treated

why should one team have full team who committed the offence have the advantage

It's so they know who is replacing who.
But i agree. Just have multiple boards each with red and green numbers on and show them at the same time.

Half the time the players aren’t injured though, look at Joelinton he used to just sit on the floor so the ref would stop the game. Almiron went down holding his face against Milan and it was nowhere near his face why should the Milan player have to go off because Almiron is a cheat?

might stop it both ways

Top one is worst of the lot. So if Jack Clarke gets a kicking we should miss out on him for 2 minutes each time?

Aye I retract that. Its not like I think before replying  You'd just have someone going around booting the oppo players up in the air every few minutes. A good team could probably play against 10 men for a good portion of the game.

1) Hmm I agree in practice but it does "reward" the player fouling him. I then debated having the player who injured him going off the pitch too, but that just rewards anyone being fouled by Messi staying down longer than 15 seconds.
2) Agree, but maybe make it 15 seconds, any longer and the player being subbed on gets booked.
3) Agree, always baffled me it never happened previously, although the main issue with it is that the ref never adds the correct amount of time on anyway. It's supposed to be a minimum of X minutes.
4) Agree, works in the NFL most of the time, but then communication with the ref and VAR is already shite so they'd need to clean that up first. Fuck the whole speaking in code and if a player is offside just tell the ref they're offside.

I’m happy with a compromise of the 30 s rule we have which encourages players not to cheat by claiming injury but is not to onerous on players who have actually been hurt. Two minutes is ridiculous.

Be class if they stuck a 10 second timer on when a sub is made. Like the countdown for the next royal rumble wrestler. Crowd counting down 10, 9, 8…. Absolute scenes.
