1. If England remain undefeated in all test series this year, they would arguably be considered one of the all time great test teams. However, they play Pakistan, India & Sri Lanka and SA at home

2. Steve Finn will be the most feared quick in world cricket by year end

3. England didnt have a single player make their debut last year. Aussies had 10

Made up for point 3 in T20s and ODIs though!

Seems a fair assessment, particularly on Steven Finn, provided he keeps working the way he has been recently. I don't know where that extra couple of yards of pace has suddenly come from, but he's showing an incredible potential at the moment.

Finn is bowling at 90 mph. Surely he has to find a way into the England side and intimidate top order batsmen to be more feared than Dale Steyn. He is some way off that but has a part to play in the Test side in 2012.

Infact, England would have a fairly strong second eleven. Much the same as the Aussies a decade ago.

1. They won't. They are a good side but not a great side

2. Think it will take longer. I dont seem him playing enough to start with, and Steyn is a class above

3. Stability is a good thing, but at the same time you need to blood the new players at the right time. The problem the Aussies had was that Warne, McGrath, Gillespie, Gilchrist, Hayden and Langer (and to an extent Damien Martyn) all retired around the same sort of time. Its much easier to blood players into a settled winning side than trying to blood 4 or 5 at the same time. Hence England should look to get the younger players involved....i.e. Finn, Taylor, Briggs, Borthwick. Flower seems to get this at least
