Minutes silence 11.00 this Friday

It was aimed at you, and others, and you’re seemingly upset otherwise you wouldn’t have started a thread about it.

That’s fine of course, you’re allowed to be upset, but what have you got against British support for Ukraine?

(A full apology due and will be given if I’ve misinterpreted your post and you are not indeed, against this or British support for Ukraine).

I posted the thread as I and no doubt other were unaware of what is planned, which seeing the war is still in progress I personally think is out of order.

A minutes silence would be more appropriate when the war is finally at an end , all in my humble opinion of course.

For the record I don’t think it’s a prerequisite to be upset before you start a thread about any topic.

Then in that case please allow me to apologise for mistaking you to be one of the loons who thinks that we shouldn’t be supporting Ukraine

Tin hat on, but don’t we observe a silence to remember the fallen service people of ALL nationalities?

Iirc we include dead Nazis and imperialist Japanese on November 11th?

I honestly don’t know. That may technically be the case but I doubt many people are thinking of the dead soldiers on the enemy side, as blameless as any of the frontline soldiers obviously were.

We visited Tyne Cot cemetery a few years ago and there are a few German graves maintained alongside the Allied ones. I actually felt a sense of collective sadness when I gazed over the fields that they fought over - a terrible waste.

Perhaps time really is a great healer.

Vomit inducing. Who would've thought back in 1990 when communist Ukraine was part of the communist USSR, that in 2023 we would fall in love with one lot of former communists ( albeit with a good dose of dormant Fascists hidden amongst them) whilst hating the lot that became part of what we now know as Russia.
Fookin moron

If you’re against wars you’re a loon? Very strange thing to say.

In this context, I meant anti this particular war, and specifically against supporting Ukraine.

I would happily call out on here or in person, anyone who thinks we should be backing Ukraine.

I’ll be having a minute of silent reflection.

Why is it for us to pay a minutes silence? Minutes silences now just have no real meaningfulness, it’s a farce. What is a minutes silence going to achieve? Same as the clap for the NHS.
The war in Ukraine has nothing at all to do with any of us, only those in politics can do anything about it so why put the emphasis on the general public, it’s absolutely pathetic.

I'm sure the same people who are outraged about this were more than happy to have a minutes silence for Phillip and the queen mind
