The man is a shrewd businessman. If he spends nowt he's fucked and if he spent all his money and bankrupted the club he'd be fucked. They are never happy, deluded bunch of Greggs pasty eating fuckers.
Skint as fuck Mike cashley man (he's taking the piss ) basically any spare money he does have he will invest in businesses and won't waste it on the mags not superised he hates them after all the shit they have given him he's biding his time for a buy out.

Rafa's got this.

Tthe only time he has not given managers cash was

The summer after finishing 5th, that was stupid

The january when they were on about 32 points by xmas and still only stayed up final day

Rest of the time they have spent a fortune

I'm late to this thread,

So has Ashley basically said he's not willing to spunk millions and Rafa must generate the cash?

They'll lose around £7-8 million on these two alone. Great work Rafa.

Jesus Gamez still on books played about 3 games. Its ok saying there squad players but theyve got 29 senior players on there books. Ashley just being a good owner its Rafa who needs to trim the fat.

There's probably a few more as well who they'll lose money on. The likes of Diame and that goalkeeper.

thought he gave a good honest interview he says
if Newcastle fans think that we have 150 million to spend they are wrong

benitez has to sign players with money that the club generate

the club is Newcastle united and doesn't have these massive sponsor deals on stadiums etc

he says people say I'm wealthy maybe I am a billionaire but in reality my money is all in shares at sports direct

he doesn't have that cash in the bank so he doesn't have that the ability to write massive cheques

I don't have it its not there I would have to sell the shares at sports direct to fund that

he wants to make it clear he is nowhere near wealthy enough in football terms to pay that sort of money for players

he cannot and he will not spend that type of money,
full interview on sunday

Now I know why the fans hate Mike Ashley. He is the one thing they hate - honest. He is the only one that has clearly gone back into the league absolutely realistic about life as a Premier League club. I find it hard to believe a club of their alleged ambitions are shocked that they cannot compete with the top PL clubs.

Rafa's got tits.

It's not the City's that 's the problem though, it's bottom half sides like Watford spending £18m on a player and £50m+ overall this window plus Bournemouth spending £20m on one players and Huddersfield spending £40odd million. I know Leicester are recent champs and West Ham have London, but they've both spent £25m+ on individual players as well and both have spent well over £50m. Even Palace, £28m on Benteke - these type of transfers were once absurd but now pretty much the going rate. It's one thing not being able to compete with the top top teams, but another altogether when a Watford are blowing you out of the water. Andre Gray would have been perfect for them, Watford stumped up the large money needed to secure his services, Newcastle in contrast are signing our flops, someone who played a bit part on loan for them last season, a promising winger and an unknown lad from Spain.

No fan of Ashley but it seems that some of the mega money chairman are realising that the game has lost the plot.......One thing blowing your dosh in an attempt to make the champions league etc but now we are talking about blowing hundreds of millions just to stay up.......I suspect we are now going to enter a period in the game where the top 6 compete in these mega money deals and the rest are run with a bit of common sense.
