"Migrating" at half time

Just ask them to move. I have a season ticket in the west stand with a couple of mates and there are no empty seats near where we sit. However my son doesn’t so when he can make the games he gets a ticket in the north stand and I go and sit with him. Quite often it’s trial and error and we have to move until we find 2 empty seats. Most people just say that’s my seat mate and we move but there are some miserable twats love to make a whole song and dance about it, tutting and shaking heads.. pathetic
That’s what I would do but in all fairness some people find that hard or face some pissed up confrontational lad and the ones who’s seats they are have a right to a hassle free experience. Also people on the ends of the rows can get pissed off having to keep getting up as ransoms keep wanting to be past.

More likely though it’s in case something kicks off as the security cameras can pinpoint a seat. They probably want the person at the game sitting where they were allocated so they can match records if there is trouble and ban them.

Was stopped by a steward at half time walking along the concourse to the North Stand, (the one with all of the empty seats) cos I fancied a different view of the game.
The very zealous, 70+, 5ft 3", steward was trying to check everyone's ticket before letting them pass. He said it was new club policy..."No migrating seats at half time"
The sight of him chasing and trying to prevent a 6ft 6" pissed up fan getting to his seat was something you don't see often.
Not sure why the club would have such a policy - what harm does it do?

Haha I saw it happen.. was all a bit weird

This. I imagine if they have sold a block of tickets in one area, they'll know a large number of people will be there should an incident occur. They will have staff there to manage those people.
If however a big chunk of people decide to go to another block where there are fewer or even no staff on hand an an incident occurs, the club will be in bother.
Can the stewards walk?

Me and my son were stopped - we sometimes move to the North Stand at half time as it is better for our return home and almost always the lads are attacking that end in the second half. We have "regular" empty seats but would obviously just move if they belonged to anybody. Wouldn't dream of doing it if the ground was busy.

The old fellah was really cranky, obnoxious and a little confrontational. He had a younger steward who was a bit more pleasant and he started talking about a bomb incident at Liverpool as the reason for doing it. I asked what incident and he started dealing with somebody else (the recent hospital one perhaps?). We just sat a bit further round the bowl, but if we had a mind to we could have got to the regular seats by walking along the rows themselves.

It achieved nothing other than antagonising people and if you really want to move you can do it by a different route in any case.

There is a wall at the north west corner of the concourses

So go round the East side

If it wasn't blocking people's view and were actually next to the away fans I'd agree. But they are miles away from them and probably won't even be seen
I would agree with you if you sat right at the front of the North stand but there plenty of seats to sit in behind it's empty..

Makes no difference whatsoever unless you've sat in someone's seat.

I've got a ticket in the South Stand and have moved to the North Stand, if we are kicking in that direction almost every game since relegation.

and at Roker Park they actually put us behind the goal, it was called the Boys Enclosure and was a caged off bit at the front of the Roker End.
I would actually encourage kids to gather behind the goal, have some fun at the match ( novel idea?) and let any adults with season cards there move somewhere else if it bugs them.

We used to be in Roker Park hours before kick off in those days. Massively different now, I know, but kids should still be able to enjoy themselves at the game.
Frowned upon these days mate.

They will have to stay silent for a minute because someone's hamster has died, applaud football players taking a knee and God forbid they swear because women and children are within 200 meters of earshot.

"Migrating at half time" ... not permitted... ganna be announced tonight by Boris in a special announcement as one of the many restrictions being implemented due to a new strain of the "virus" called Solicron. Attendance into the Sol is only permitted if you've received more jabs than Billy Hardy ..
Sign a declaration saying you won't fart/sing or swear , wear a muzzle and dress in a full Haz . Mat. Suit..

It’s the safety advisory group and the sports ground safety authority who have picked up on people gathering and moving about. So it’s something to do with them and ultimately the club will have to fall in line and stop it happening which looks like they’ve started to do

It’s to stop all the yougins moving seats at half time,we sit in the front row of the north stand and at half time there’s loads of them come round, there always standing In front of you blocking your view, think we are going to move seats next season

It is just our safety advisory group that are a bunch of twats?

Since when has walking around been a danger? Same as standing in the south stand, absolutely no risk whatsoever. I bet they are the type of people who say 'People could fall over' - aye they could, just like they could fall over walking down their own stairs or living their life.

I’d soon shift them after a few of my hollers at them

The SGSA are the ones that will provide a licence for the stadium to allow spectators in, they do so for the prem, EFL and Wembley. If they aren’t happy with it everyone else falls inline.
