"Migrating" at half time

Was stopped by a steward at half time walking along the concourse to the North Stand, (the one with all of the empty seats) cos I fancied a different view of the game.
The very zealous, 70+, 5ft 3", steward was trying to check everyone's ticket before letting them pass. He said it was new club policy..."No migrating seats at half time"
The sight of him chasing and trying to prevent a 6ft 6" pissed up fan getting to his seat was something you don't see often.
Not sure why the club would have such a policy - what harm does it do?

I did exactly that on Saturday. Watched the first half in the South Stand and then met up with a pal in the NE corner for the second half. It makes zero difference surely? There's 30'000 empty seats in the place ffs

Maybe to do with HSE guidelines

This. I imagine if they have sold a block of tickets in one area, they'll know a large number of people will be there should an incident occur. They will have staff there to manage those people.
If however a big chunk of people decide to go to another block where there are fewer or even no staff on hand an an incident occurs, the club will be in bother.

They’re trying to stop young scroats migrating to the South Stand to cause trouble at the bars.

But they’re not applying any common sense, stopping mature people and ignoring the pissed up kids.
Simple test.

"Sir what is capital of France" ?

"Paris"

"Ok sir correct, you are mature go ahead"

"Laddo what is the capital of France" ?

"Ayyyeeeeeeeeeee"

"Get the fuck out of the ground"

That was my thought too. There was loads of them, but they weren't causing any bother from what I saw.

Just my opinion like but i think it's absolutely pathetic that grown blokes actaully complained to the club and on here about young teenagers gathering behind the goal in the second half.

Our support, although vast and loyal in numbers, is absolutely soft as shite some times.

Imagine people at roker park complaining cos young lads were gathering together on the terrace .

We're SC holders in the north stand and now and again find people doing this and sat in our seats for the start of second half.

Knackers.
