Mignolet - third best premier league keeper last season

Has anyone actually pointed out that these 'stats' don't point out what the OP is claiming anyway, or are we beyond the point of tedium now where it's not even worth pointing out?

These stats show that Mignolet is a very good shot stopper, which is great.

I don't think it's unfair to say that this is one of Mignolet's strengths, but that he still has some work to do on other aspects of his game. Fortunately, most of the stuff he can work on is technical and experience based, so, hopefully, he'll continue to develop and become a really good 'keeper.

No they don't.

What if a keeper had 10 shots straight at him and let two through his legs? Would he be a better shot stopper than Mig because he saved 80% of shots on target? Course he wouldn't, he'd be a shit keeper.

Generally looked decent/good when I've seen him. Certainly not a poor keeper by any stretch. He's made a few mistakes but all keepers do.

When is someone going to point out that we often had 9 or 10 men camped behind the ball under O'Neill making us very difficult to breakdown and get in behind, thus meaning a higher % of shots from distance?

mig got hated the more crocked flash got

mig is a good young keeper he'll prove a lot of people on here wrong over his career.

No doubt the Mignolet doubters will be along soon berating him for his supposed poor ability on corners.

Agreed. Mignolet is f***ing awful at corners. Woeful to say the least. Absolute shite. How many goals did he let in from corners again last season?

Reminds me of the famous stat that Henderson supposedly created more PL Chances than anyone else in 10/11.

Mig is a very good keeper. That's the truth, get used to it!

Gordon was slated often (IMO he was/is a great shot stopper and didn't deserved all the abuse), but now he seems to be a God on here. His flapping against Spurs, his nightmare at Stoke, Fabregas looking like Koller in the 6 yard box never happened, Gordon was the master of his box and as reliable as Casillas and Buffon at their peak, it seems.
