Nice avoiding discussing Mignolet and his clean sheets, get back to me when Gordon can keep as many clean sheets as Mignolet does.
Neither goal at Man City was Mignolet's fault.

Gordon is no way the complete keeper. Notice, what ever else was wrong, his positioning for the first goal last week was poor, he moved and stopped once again leaving plenty of open space. The second one was also a keeper's ball but he doesn't do it in those very postions.
This thread was about discussing our number one returning against Fulham, other posters decided to turn it into a Mignolet bashing.
If Gordon had been so good there wouldn't be so much controversy about him. He does not command his box and he doesn't get off his line quickly enough. Ok, he's a shot stopper but he lets in too many softies in other situations, cross shots are also of one his glaring weaknesses, remember the one against the mags at the sol a couple of years ago from way out on the left. One of many. I don't care who plays in goal but I accept that Gordon has his weaknesses and he lets in soft goals.
He moves off his line much quicker and he polices the six yard area better.
Crosses
Commanding his area
Communication and organising his defence
Clean sheets
That should keep you going for the next hour.
He is. Much better.
One of the funniest things I see people say is about the famous 'shot stopping'. EVERY goalkeeper should be a good 'shot stopper', they wouldn't be playing professional football if they weren't.
The only area Gordon can claim to be better in is distribution.

Free transfer for Gordon in the summer it is then.

I wouldn't even bother putting KW on the bench.
Good, I don't care how long Gordon has been out of action he should have prevented Davies 2nd goal on Saturday, should have came of his line and took the ball but instead he stands on his line like a tin of milk and gives his defender a "that was your fault" look.
Let MON decide, if he does let him go will he be a 'moron' too?
Scott1CG said:MON likes Gordon. He's thinking about wages and what not. The idiots on this thread slating Gordon are the morons.
Im sure he is thinking about winning games and what not first and foremost. Tough call between Mig and Gordon but neither wants to be in the reserves, I would suggest Gordon will be gone by August regardless of whether people like him or not.
Hey Ho. Bottom Half finish then.
Next season n'arl unless MON gets this sorted. Krul has been worth three league places to NUFC.
Scott1CG said:But he is thinking about the contracts, as he stated in that article. He's not keen on Westwood, but he's a recent signing, has a few years left and won't be easy to shift.
Not really followed the Westwood story. Whats he done wrong behind the scenes?
Gordon is 30 this year and Mignolet is just 23. He has alot of years on him to develop.
That's my overriding feeling when trying to separate the two. People forget Mignolet is still a young lad learning his trade, and will get better with time. I'm not convinced Gordon will get any better and he's shown in the past that despite being fairly solid, he struggles to avoid daft injuries.
