*~*~* Middlesbrough v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

None whatsoever but why didn't Clarke shoot ???The keeper was on the deck only 4 yards from the goal
There were 3 defenders between him and the goal, including the one who finally made the block. The pass to Ba was the right decision, only thing Ba could have done differently was put his foot through it - but if he totally missed the target by doing that, like against Coventry, then he'd be getting a lot more stick for it.

He does and far too often turns into trouble. I genuinely wouldn’t give him the ball in our half, he scares the life out of me
I wouldn’t play him.
Feel we burst our bank to get him, sacked a coach to accommodate him and have genuinely regressed .

He is only 18 aye, but nowhere near ready for regular first team football.

I’d love to know what game some people watch as Ba has been our best player and has their fullback on toast. Miss was bad, but at least he’s made a run into space to receive the ball, and guess anyone can miss one.

Jack Clarke has been our best player. And it’s not even a contest. Just far and away better than anyone else.

I’m quite pleased with our performance…I thought we’d get smashed (and we may still). Need Rusyn on for Burstow and Ba to try and beat his man down the outside. One of our three in the middle needs to sit as they’re playing through the lines.

I thought Hjelde looked solid so far, but out of position a few times meaning O’Nien has to do the work of two players.

Let’s see if Beale can make improvements at half time.
