Aye, tricky to get the balance right. Far more convincing going forwards but a bit of a shambles at the back, luckily Stoke were awful at taking their chances.

I work with Middlesbrough supporters and the general consensus from those who I know is that if we sit back, show absolutely no ambition to attack and waste time then we should get at least a point. Kidology perhaps but I too would advocate a similar approach and tactics to those that Mike Dodds deployed against Leeds (3-4-2-1) which would hopefully give us more defensive solidity and a platform to get a foothold in the game.
