Always seemed a decent bloke. He was also a thoroughly decent Championship manager. Absolute woeful in the PL.

Whatever happens in the future, he’s not the man to rebuild us in a new image

This is the worst season in our history. At least at this level McCarthy got results.

What's ridiculous about it? Coleman is shite and probably won't be here much longer so we'll need a new manager.

Neither did Moyes according to the media
I didn't realise he was going

Spent £4m on Kelvin Davis, Jon Stead and Andy Gray. Not massive money but all wasted. Coming up as champions he did a pathetic job. Quite a few teams have spent less and done far better. I am amazed when people make excuses for McCarthy for the 15 point season.
Eh you can't complain at his job in championship surely

Mate the squad he got us up with was terrible it was a miracle getting us promoted them he had 4 million to strengthen it who did you expect him to get for that amount

They were poor I think as well Ben Ani

sure they were poor as well mate. Think one might of been Ben Alnwick can’t remember the other one.
Poom and Myhre? They certainly weren't as bad as Davis. I remember after a game where Davis threw a couple into his own net, an interviewer asked him, obviously tongue in cheek, whether his target of playing for England was achievable this season.:lol::lol: worra cunt.

He embarrassed us in the Premier League and then, as he was driving away after being sacked said, "I've loved every minute".

Well I didn't.

He was in an impossible situation given how little money he had to spend after promotion. The fault was with Bob Murray for failing to provide an adequate transfer budget to strengthen the squad.

In a similar vein, there is no way I blame Chris Coleman for our current plight.

£4M in 2005 was far better than it is today. That he did an awful job that year is beyond dispute.
It’s swings and round abouts never used to get same money off sky as now so 8 million them days was prob equivalent of 20 now

The mags Man City and Chelsea all paid upwards of 15 million for players
