Mick McCarthy

I met Mick at a player of season do and chatted for over half an hour and was really taken with him typical down to earth Yorkshireman who knew what he was doing. Not really supported but Bob didn’t have the money. Disappointed when Mick went.

He's Irish. ;)

I dinnar like, we used to play Colin Healy and Jeff Whitely together, and we'd use that great lummox Kevin Kyle to shield the ball in the corners for hours on end. Even when we were getting results we played some horrific football under Mick McCarthy.
Promotion season was dire football.

MM would be a save bet, but we are in a position that we should look for an up and coming manager who has new ideas and is brave in decision making

Exactly - the 15 point season was abject - he came up as champions and spent more than some other teams have and failed abysmally. Reading some comments we are almost moving into 'anyone but Coleman' territory. We are in dire straits but that doesn't mean we shouldn't aspire above someone who has previously failed here so abysmally. Never forget we came up as champions and only got 15 points.
I don't think anyone is say that. I think most of us are saying if Coleman resigns or gets sacked, McCarthy would the best of all the realistic choices out there.

Sure he is but his football persona is horrid.
That doesn't make sense?

Rock bottom of Championship heading for Division 3 and debating a managers premier league record when he kept the club pride going in this league. Only on here.

If Coleman was to leave I think he would be excellent for us:-

- knows the club
- used to working on tight budget
- due to the above he will already know who best lower league players are.
- will not bring in any arseholes.
- there would be nothing wrong with his solid first approach to stop the rot and get a platform to go forward with.

Maybe a good idea to talk to him, if Coleman doesn't continue into next season, perfect candidate for the job or maybe get him in as head of recruitment.
