It leaves me wishing we had put £5m release clauses in the contracts of Bridcutt, Matthews, Buckley etc etc. It might have fooled people into thinking they were worth it.

But they have spent their lives playing in the Championship or Scotland.

Richards has played more than 200 games in the Premier League and has 13 caps for England.

Out of curiosity, would people turn down Robbie Brady? Relegated twice in the last two seasons. Andros Townsend was relegated last season but some on here wanted to sign him before he went to Palace. How many of us were hoping we'd get Charlie Austin last summer?

It's a shit argument people use without thinking.

I think i saw a few on here saying that they wouldn't have wanted Nathan Redmond to sign for us...... mental.

He's exactly the type of signing that we've become experts at making. I don't particularly rate Yedlin. But I d be happier to give Spurs the 5 million for him. He has a good attitude, can be improved, if it doesn't work out we will most likely be able to shift him on. Richards we are going to stuck with him draining a living. We dodged a bullet last season when there was no transfer fee. Mental absolutely mental going back in for him. He was utter shit last season

If Richards can't do a job at right back which was his original position then there's no hope.
Any fucker should be able to play right back, it's the easiest position to play on the park.
I predict Richards bombing down that right hand side will end up a hero to the SOL hordes.

Tell that to Billy Jones.

Im more on this side of fence with richards. The thing with full backs who attack i.e. pva is that if the team dont play as a unit you easily end up looking like a twat when you bomb forward etc. We all wanted shot of pva pre allardyce. Now he is a 1st team regular. If managed right i think richards will be absolutely spot on. Id also get yedlin back on loan

Retweeted Craig Hope (@CraigHope_DM):

I understand Aston Villa's Micah Richards will NOT be signing for Sunderland and there never has been a deal in place.
Whees Craig Hope like?
