And how many relegated players have turned out alright for us (maybe Seb at a push) and that's it. Richards spent practically every game last season on the losing team. He's hardly going to be mentally in tip top shape is he ?
It's about prevailing forces. Put a fragile player into a positive, upbeat culture and you're likely to see his mentality improve. Flood a team with defeatist players and you're likely to drag down the rest of them.

Good RB and cover for CB. BSA wanted him back in January so this looks like a deal we were working and Moyes is happy with. £5m is nothing these days and I remember people calling Kaboul shite when we signed him too.

As for Yedlin, he is involved in a court case between his junior club and the MLS over the amount of compensation they are due. Levy won't let Spurs lose anymore than they owe so that deal will drag on.

Have we just totally forgot that Yedlin exists?

Spurs asked for £5m for him, he improved alot under Allardyce and when he was getting game time...

Much better option!

When will the club learn not to buy players from relegated clubs ffs ?

Just think though that IF the Norwich result had gone against us it would have been us going down.....do you honestly believe that the likes of PVA, Mannone, Kone, Kaboul, Kirchoff, Defoe, Borini, Khazri and Watmore wouldn't attract a lot of interest.

Would much rather have Yedlin at RB for roughly the same fee I'd guess. The plus for Micah is he can slot in a CB too if needed, although that's not his best position.

Since we don't have unlimited funds, making bad moves economically hamper our potential to be as strong as we can. So of course it matters even though it's not our Money.

I don't see how fans can be the ones to judge transfer fees or wages to be honest, not that we are ever consulted anyway

I'd rather go for Yedlin as is younger and has more scope for improvement/resale but if Richards does arrive then he will receive my backing and I hope he does very well. No point getting my duds in a kink.

I don't have a major problem with him signing but have made myself refuse to believe that we would spend anything like 5 million on him - we just won't do that

Am i the only one who thinks for the money it could be a really good signing.

I couldn't believe when people were writing off Kaboul before he signed as well, i really think Richards will be in the same mould.

The man was an absolute beast charging down the right flank at his best. He may well never get anywhere near those performances again in his career but i certainly think he's worth a punt. I suggested Glenn Johnson last summer and got exactly the same responses as the ones currently being posted about Richards....and Johnson was tremendous for the team that did sign him... Stoke (well above us in the league) last season.

I've only ever been wrong once in my life and that was when I thought I was wrong and I wasn't.

You saying one result was the difference between us staying up. Villa lost just about every game last season. What do you think his mental state will be like after that?

He's finished as a right back he just hasn't got the legs any more to play there. Didn't impress me at all at Villa. Might be a good squad option, but god help us if he plays week in week out

That was last season......a fresh start may be just what he needs. I know the ability is there and i'm happy to sign him IF the manager thinks he can get him playing somewhere near his full potential. If he can we will have a very strong (and powerful) defence imo, with pace down both flanks.

What was your opinion on Glenn Johnson before Stoke signed him mate?

I fully admit, I was one of the people that thought the signing of Kaboul was a horrendous one, but look how that turned out. I would take Richards in our team. Can play right back, has lots of experience, still only 28, can cover centre back if need be. He will also want to prove the doubters wrong now.
