Allardyce tried to sign him in January.....

Ive seen you mention this a good few times. Ive forgotten those rumors thankfully, although they may have been just that, either way we ended up buying players that have value instead of the Rodwells and Richards of this world.

Actually he does get a few correct in advance of others.

Dedicates his entire life to trawling Twitter and football forums, nicking every bit of gossip possible. A bust clock is right twice a day.

When we were linked with him in the past but he went to Villa, and seeing how things turned out, I honestly thought we dodged a bullet.

When will the club learn not to buy players from relegated clubs ffs ?
In 2003 West Ham got relegated when the team included David James, Trevor Sinclair, Joe Cole, Jermain Defoe, Glen Johnson & Michael Carrick. None of them were worth a punt then?

And how many relegated players have turned out alright for us (maybe Seb at a push) and that's it. Richards spent practically every game last season on the losing team. He's hardly going to be mentally in tip top shape is he ?

Remember that summer when Bruce did most of his shopping from the clubs who had just been relegated? We ended up with most of a squad that knew nothing but relegation battles. Hardly ideal for a club wanting to avoid all that shit
We are signing one player not a squad full of relegated players

Most of them were kids at the time tbf, Richards isn't and he's been shite for a number of years, villa fans hate the fucker and will be ower the moon we are taking his massive wages off them and paying for the privilege.

Why the fuck do you care about fees and wages, do you pay them like?

As far as Im concerned, if he signs I will give him the same chance anyone else gets to prove himself.

Alright lad, calm down.

Moyes will have a budget and I wouldn't want him to use too much of it on Richards since we need a few players brought in. I don't care how much we spend just how we spend what we've got.

You'll be the first to moan when we've signed a couple of mediocre players because we've spent too much on them like in recent years.

...and not sure where I said I wouldn't give him a chance either...

Thought I'd have a quick look on their forum to see how this may pan out if we do sign him. Well ......

"Has to be said. Richards sticks out as one of the worst defenders that I've ever seen in all of my years watching the Villa. He is utter, unmitigated shite of the highest imaginable order"

Not sure they're fans of him tbh :lol:

I've watched him last season against Leicester City, and he looked like he couldn't give a flying one. That may have been something to do with the lack of spirit in the team/squad/club as a whole, because Villa were clearly doomed from the start. I think if he signs for you, a lot will depend on the attitude of the manager and his team-mates, because I'm not entirely sure he is a self-starter. Personally I think you'd be better of with Richie de Laet, who's apparently on the way out at Leicester.

Would much rather have Yedlin at RB for roughly the same fee I'd guess. The plus for Micah is he can slot in a CB too if needed, although that's not his best position.

Since we don't have unlimited funds, making bad moves economically hamper our potential to be as strong as we can. So of course it matters even though it's not our Money.
