Travelling on Metro during industrial action | nexus.org.uk

How much do they actually get paid? And how different is it to other places which are similar?Aye, Nexus once again bleating to the press about their own failure to keep up with drivers pay and conditions - which they have allowed to stagnate and slip way behind the industry norm.
Drivers are leaving for other jobs with better T's and C's - which has created a staffing shortage.
Only Nexus to blame here.
And before all of the fuckers on here moan about how much the drivers get, how easy the job is etc etc - don't forget that the press reports such amounts they earn is AFTER overtime and unsociable hours working.
Dunno - you tell me - you work there. How much do they actually get paid? And how different is it to other places which are similar?
Ah man i must have come to the wrong workplace for the last 19 years then because i havent got a clueDunno - you tell me - you work there.

Always had you down for working there for some reason.
Apologies.
@partridge amongst the pig - he's your man to answer your question regarding pay.
Is the Metro comparable to GC, TPX and Northern? Quick google looks like Manchester Metro Link are on £33k. Surely thats a better comparison than to mainline operators?38k at the minute. That's with the shift and weekend allowance built in. For comparison other drivers from other TOCs such as grand central, trans pennine express and Northern - all based up here - are on anything upwards of 52k. Doing less hours, less driving time and shorter shifts. And not dealing directly with the general public.
For clarity, the overtime ban has been called due to nexus wanting to impose a change to the terms and conditions in addition to the request for additional pay by drivers.

Cheers for info. Not really mate. They don't operate on Network Rail infrastructure for a start. If they did they'd automatically be on more. Looks like their shifts aren't as early or as late either.
Merseyrail is a bit more of a better comparison. They're on around 48k.
However, we do very similar jobs and run on the same network as the TOCs you mention. So there is a fair comparison there.
@partridge amongst the pig are you a metro driver then mate ?
Is there a concert on at the SOL? Metro staff only ever take industrial action during that period according to the theory conspiracists on here
are you a runner enall ?I am mate, aye.
