Metallica - Some Kind Of Monster

Seen clips of it. I think Metallica collectively disappeared up their arses after the black album and have so far failed to crawl back out. I cringe everytime I hear their cover of whiskey in the jar.

Worth watching to see Dave Mustaine crying and James Hetfield slamming doors

:lol::lol:

Mustaine, fucks sake you sold 15 million records with your own band get the fuck over it, hetfield with the doors, before the rehab I thought ok he's fucked up on the drink then after the rehab he's still doing it?!?! GROW THE FUCK UP!!

It is all very entertaining though.

Did I mention I would never get tired punching Lars Ulrich?

Really don't blame you. Who the fuck does he think he is, Eminem?

just coming to the end of it now, funny to see the therapist guy desperately trying to stay in there for his 40grand a month!

the san quentin thing to, hetfield to a load of cons "I'm glad I had music or otherwise I could be in here too" nice thing for the multi millionaire to say to a load of convicts

Have you seen the Anvil documentary? That really is like real life Spinal Tap. It's brilliant!

Been meaning to check that out going through a bit of a rockumentary phase. Empire did a list ofthe best ones there last week had seen most but it reminded me to get the Metallica one and anvil. Dig is meant to be very good too

The thing about the Anvil docco is that it is filled with heart and soul. You really root for those guys, they are trying to follow their dreams. The ending at the festival in Japan is really heartwarming. You just have to laugh at how Metallica come across in SKOM.

You've hit the nail on the head, I had goosebumps when they hit the stage at Japan. I find the last scene, in the pedestrianised area in Tokyo with Lips doing the voiceover, quite moving.

Yeah, I'd forgotten about the voiceover. The argument Lips and Rob have at Chris Tsangrides' studio is a little like the Troggs Tapes though ;)

The funniest scene is where Ulrich is recording new music in the absence of Hetfield and he's trying to get his dad to listen to it.

He plays the new tune and when it ends he asks his dad what he thinks and the dad replies "I would delete it".

Nearly pissed myself laughing, Ulrich looked like he was going to cry.

He is an absolute twat like, but for some reason I still prefer Megadeth to Metallica.

I recently read his autobiography, I thought he was a twat before after reading it I cant stand the bloke even more. Megadeth have been crap since Youthanisia and the most boring live band around since well before that, the one thing about Metallica they may have lost their way albumwise since Justice but they are still one of the top live bands out there.

They cant be that good live when they have the Ringo Starr of heavy metal keeping time.
