You're a grown man crying and calling Messi a shite bag because he signed for PSG.😂

I’m sorry for the game nothing else. This just proves that even the best will sell their soul. The days Chelsea, Man City and PSG were taken over are among the darkest days in football. They have completely ruined football. Just a shame these clubs are pretty much established at the top level now so even if the owners did get bored they can run themselves now due to the billions invested in each club. Of course I wish Sunderland would have been taken over by one of these, but how anyone could want any team other than your own to be taken over and be a huge success is beyond me. It’s a shame that such an established and historic club such as Barcelona couldn’t keep hold of a player they have nurtured since before his teens and made him into a global star, yet a tin pot team in a tin pot league can come and swoop in without a care.

That tin pot team will win the champions league this season IMO

Barcelona were the architects of their own misery here, have overspent for years and let his contract expire. No one to blame but themselves.

How utterly boring that he joins PSG. I cannot wait to see them meet Barcelona in the round of 16 in Champions League and honestly not be bothered who goes through.

Very true, but this influx of new wealth and billionaire owners has caused the ‘big teams’ to overspend to keep up or stay ahead. The transfer market is massively inflated due to the new money over the last 10 years. The most obvious being Neymar which was more than double the previous record. Then you’ve got Man City who seem to sign 2 £50m defenders every year. You’ve now got untested and unproven players going for over £100m every season. Who in their right mind believes this is good for football? Give your head a shake if you do.

He's not interested in the sporting challenge, just money and an easy win.
Just like Ronaldo then. He left Real Madrid to join a team in a 1 horse race that had won 7 titles in a row and 4 doubles in a row.

The big challenge for PSG is to win back the title they lost last season and win the Champions League. Ligue 1 is actually a good league. It's full of good young players and decent teams. Unfortunately the bigger Europe clubs pick them up and they to rebuild again.

Bit of a farce isn't it, the BBC website say PSG need to sell upto 10 players so they can fall into ffp rules.

What if these players don't want to leave?

Wouldn’t put it passed them but it will be a sad day for football if/when they do.

it became a sad day for football when the likes of Chelsea and then Man City bought success! - I remember a midweek match back in the mid 80's when Chelsea had to play Man City at Maine Road in what was then still called the 2nd division?... only about 20,000 at what was a promotion decider.. basically nothing more than 2 average sized clubs who at the time both thought they were still big clubs from their moment in the spotlight during the 1970's!?

I don't really understand this view. I agree that Chelsea & Man City bought success, but Man Utd bought success too. Liverpool before them.

It's maybe become more pronounced recently but the big club thing ebbs & flows, it always has.

More to do with the pedigree of the club before they were bought up by billionaires?
Both Man Utd and Liverpool had a healthy/good collection of titles, cups, European football for decades before they got in bed with their sugar daddies... Man City and Chelsea probably had no more than one league title each to their names when the Russian or middle eastern money rolled into town ;)

fun fact, when Fergie left Aberdeen and took charge of Man Utd they only had one more English League title to their name than Sunderland at the time! - just shows how things can change so quickly...

Absolutely top top player, one of the best three I’ve ever seen. But the crying as he left during that ceremony was shite. Yes he offered to take 50% pay cut to £100000 a week but if he really wanted to stay that much he could have stayed for £20k a week, become an even bigger legend (the sponsorship deals would have been flooding through the doors) and helped out a team and fan base he purports to adore.
Two days later he’s wearing a t shirt saying he adores Paris 🤦🏻.
Oh ffs man

Brilliant thread this. Some absolute dimwits exposing themselves. So many people with sand up their chuffs because they don't understand things.

The more this unravels I think this has been the plan for months. If he renewed before his deal expired then he could have stayed at barca, they knew that.

There was a report months ago that ramos told Madrid he was off and him and messi were going to Paris. I woukdnt be surprised if they did it this way to save the clubs image with fans as they tried their best and saves his image with the barca fans as being forced out.

Let's face it, I like barca but he's joining a far better squad equipped to win things in his final years.

If he loved the club that much, in addition to paying for himself to play for them, he would have personally bought the contracts of the other players and loaned them back free to Barcelona.

Glory hunter.
