I hate hearing this shite about Messi "wouldn't be able to cut it at Stoke in January"

Why the fuck would anyone leave Barcelona?

I look at it this way.....

last season(I think) Messi ran straight through Real Madrids team to slot home past Cassillas........awesome goal...pace, controlled finish...brilliant...

Maradona ran past Peter Reid......then had another 40-50 yards before anyone came near him.....for his 'wonder goal'

Messi by a mile....

Only a fool would argue against such a mountain of evidence.

Maradona was the best player in the world in every team he played in. Argentina, Spain, Italy, national competition - it didn't matter. I watched him in friendlies for random teams being the best player in the world. He had the arrogance and leadership skills to be the man.

Messi only does it for one team. He is utterly superb for that one team but take him out that team and he isn't the best player in the world. Why? Because he's not as good as Maradona.

Answer me one question and it'll be the last i mention on the matter. Why is practically every pundit, a few of the worlds top manager and ex players including Zidane,Figo and Ronaldo along with Alex Ferguson and Wenger saying he is the greatest ever? Am i missing something hear or does the smb know more than that lot?

Messi is a Bernabau homer, the Argies think he is shit. Over rated little shit who thrives on weaker teams. Bit of a bully boy.

Stick to smilies will you. Wrong stadium for a start scores against everyone he's faced the second best team in the world in Real Madrid and scores goals for fun against them, do a lite research or stick to:lol::lol::lol::lol:

26th goal in last 25 CL games, but Messi could never do it in PL.

When I was growing up Maradona was in his prime, and for everyone of a certain age Pele was undisputedly the best ever.

People tend to look at players from their own golden age as the greatest.

In reality, as humans are constantly getting better at absolutely everything at a drastic rate, the golden boy of the current generation will inevitably be better by an absolute standard.

So then it's just a question of either judging them by their eminence at the time or just picking your favourite.

No they aren't and when Messi plays as good as this for more than one team rather than the 50% of teams he plays for, then I'll consider him as a true great.

why does messi have to play for more than one team? considering messi had back and leg problems when he was younger and could hardly play a full game without getting injured. barca give him a personal plan to improve his fitness, he pretty much owes them his career.
The people saying that he's only doing it for one club i bet have also slated players for a lack of loyalty, which messi is demonstrating he has to some degree (granted he's loyal to a team doing very well).
If like it has been mentioned if maradona could 'single handedly' do anything, then he would have european cups to his name. that is a fact and there is no arguing with that, i challenge anyone to give me a valid reason as to why he can single handedly win the world cup but not the european cup.
Also messi has scored mroe goals than maradona has in his entire career..another solid fact that people seem to be ignoring, in favour of the 'unless he can do it in another league he's not as good' the beauty of the champions league is that you play the best teams from other countries, messi systematically destroys teams from seria a, epl, la liga, bundesliga, ligue 1. now if he can play well against the best teams from these leagues, why the hell does he need to prove himself against the lesser ones?.

Are you serious?

Tell me what humans aren't getting better at.
