His dad was born in Scotland and played football there. He should have slapped his gormless looking son right across the face. Just like Bernie Slaven and Ray Houghton should have been

Due to people happy to earn a living there, spend their entire lives there, raise their family there, but less happy to integrate themselves in their new country or let their children do so. If you brainwash your kid from an early age, it is hardly surprising if he goes on to do what he's been told to.

I spent every summer in my mother's home town in Spain. It doesn't make me more Spanish.

ireland took him on at the age of 12 and developed his football skills, hes hardly going to turn his back on them, pat bonner coming from donegal also knew the mc geady family well and set him up with the irish national team.mc geady always said he would play for ireland as they treated him so well

He's about as irish as deep fried haggis, most celtic fans I know were embarassed by what he did.
Scottish football gave him a lot more than a couple of training camps ffs. I also always thought its only irish grandparents and his dad was scottish anyway.

scotland national team gave him nothing,it was ireland who picked him up and developed his football skills, hes not going to turn his back on ireland after they treated him so well

The other 11 months of the year he's not there. Not even La Masia or the Ajax Academy could claim responsibility for a players' footballing development with a few training camps every year.

His dad is Scottish, Aiden is Scottish.

When he plays well, he's Irish. When he's plays bad he's Scottish.;)

On his day he looks a world beater but when he has an off day he's terrible. I wouldn't be dancing in the streets if we sign him but I think he's an improvement on what we have.

He's as Irish as me (ie. not very) IMO. Glasgow Irish is a nonsense as a concept. It's like sons of exiles saying they are from Sunderland if they were born in Hitchin. The real reason he chose Ireland is that they are comfortably better than Scotland at football and have been for at least a decade.

All this from a stupid Jarvis post, man. You daft knackers.
