McGeady

Woeful. Needs dropping.

Looks unfit and hasn’t given anywhere near as much as he has in previous seasons.

I look forward to the pelters I’ll get for calling him.

Weak link at the moment. We play a high press and fast counter so requires fit and pacey players. Can't understand Mcgeady's inclusion at the moment. May be a good option for trickery against tired legs but holding the team back when he starts. Simply down to his age.

McGeady will be fine. At his best, despite his age, he’s way too good for this level.

I think it’s Johnson that should be looked at for today. His changes were puzzling and although McGeady is a quality player it shouldn’t prevent him being hooked when he’s obviously having a bad day. Sends the wrong signals out if a player appears to be guaranteed to stay on even when he’s having a stinker.

We missed him when he was out and the work he does isn't always appreciated - for example on Tuesday (and in other games where he's been criticised) be was doubled up on - Crewe were so focused on stopping him that they left acres of space for O'Brien, Neil and Pritchard to run riot. That doesn't happen without McGeady.

That said, he was woeful today.

Don't think it's wise playing him twice in a week, especially when returning from injury.

I said to the lads next to me today, he’s past it and this could be his last season

Age has finally caught up with his legs. Impact sub for the rest of the season or we will drop points.
I agree he looked like an old man today, however 2 games in a week is to much in my opinion. Tbh the whole team looked knacked today, those long away journeys took their toll...

He will turn up at Rotherham hopefully but no midweek game for him on Tuesday. In a game where physicality dictates we won't win with our squad.

Much as I love him, I'm fearing his legs have gone for this level. He doesn't seem to have that quick burst any more to take him away from people, nor is his decision making as sharp. He gives the ball away very cheaply this season, which is a worry.
he was class literally 4 days ago

it’s embarassing this forum it really is
He wasn't but.

Not just from today, but generally I think this is his last season and it could be argued one too far. He still makes key contributions and moments as is clear in the assist stats etc but in his general play he looks shot to me.

That sharpness in his tricks is fading very fast, he looks a shadow of the player from a few year ago. I no longer expect to see him go past the opposition on the wing etc.

No disgrace of course, he's had a brilliant career, time catches us all but for me he's on very brink of the end.
