McGeady

Mcgeady confirmed he was registered yesterday after Parkinson's sacking didn't he?
Aye registered to play as far as I'm aware
I'm not going to pretend I'm overly delighted. If he's involved it's only going to push the likes of Embleton and Diamond further down the pecking order.

Whilst it may mean better results in the short term I still think it'd be detrimental to the bigger picture.

He needs to get back involved in the first team.

Maguire has completely gone off the boil recently and Gooch is injured for a few more weeks.

I’d hope the youngsters are preferred to see how they do in the initial post Parkinson period, but McGeady definitely needs to get involved in the first team training going forward.

Training with the first team today
Has anyone ran this past onien and Dobson

Embleton can play in the middle and diamond plays on the right so wouldn’t worry too much.

should be straight back in with the first team training and building up his fitness

great player at this level even at his age and considering we create the absolute square root of fuck all having someone like that in the fold to change a game would be massive

whatever he's supposedly done it should be a clean slate now with a new manager

Good managers can 'manage' different personalities. Get him in. Best player by a mile. Eliot and diamond in and around him. Graham up to.

We seem to be forgetting that he was also pretty shit for a while whilst he was still playing
Old Father Time has caught up with him. It is increasingly a young mans game. The salary cap will just hasten the demise of the over 30’s in lower league football I feel. Especially someone like McGeady who will have earned enough never to really have to work again.

He is here inevitably until his contract expires but has not got the legs any progressive coach would expect in a player. That statement probably is true of another 3 or 4 players.

I doubt he’s going to set the world alight. He’s older and hasn’t been playing for a considerable period, not to mention that he was poor prior to his omission from the first team.

That said, he does have quality and could still be an asset.

He’s not going to have the impact some are expecting. He’s getting on now and hasn’t played in ages. Also wasn’t playing well even before Parkinson came in last season, not sure whether he was fit or not though.

Tin hat on here but he certainly wouldn't be straight back in the starting line up for me. I'd far rather give some of the younger more attack minded players who have been on the peripheral this season a chance.

I know McGeady has talent but he's not a team player. He's incredibly selfish on the ball which makes having any type of game plan or tactic hard to implement when he's involved.

We've already seen what happens when our main tactic is around getting the ball to him and hoping he does something. It's better than what we saw for the majority of time under Parkinson but it still isn't great and isn't good enough to get you promoted. Yes, he will win points on his own, but it's at the detriment of the entire squad's performance IMO.

If he's available have him in and around the squad but he'd be an impact player from the bench for me. Certainly initially anyway.
