McGeady

Tin hat on here but he certainly wouldn't be straight back in the starting line up for me. I'd far rather give some of the younger more attack minded players who have been on the peripheral this season a chance.

I know McGeady has talent but he's not a team player. He's incredibly selfish on the ball which makes having any type of game plan or tactic hard to implement when he's involved.

We've already seen what happens when our main tactic is around getting the ball to him and hoping he does something. It's better than what we saw for the majority of time under Parkinson but it still isn't great and isn't good enough to get you promoted. Yes, he will win points on his own, but it's at the detriment of the entire squad's performance IMO.

If he's available have him in and around the squad but he'd be an impact player from the bench for me. Certainly initially anyway.
A new manager would probably take the same view once they have seen his “heat map”.

Neither has Graham, Grigg or O'Brien.
According to Transfermarkt, O’Brien has played 585 minutes this season. That’s about 525 more than McGeady has played.

Grigg has played 364 minutes and Graham 354, which is about 300 each more than McGeady.

I’m not saying any of them deserve their place on the bench, but you can’t compare their lack of action to McGeady playing 60mins since March.

Don't be silly. Graham and Grigg both played on Friday night
Ok then Id take a half fit McGeady over Graham, Grigg or Wyke.

My point is above. A half fit McGeady will contribute more than a fully fit O'Brien or Grigg.

Would you take a 47 year old Kevin Phillips who hasn't trained for years ahead of Griggs for a place on the subs bench tomorrow night out of interest?

All very theoretical I know, but I would.

He is in the list of first team players on the club website

It looks like it is up to date as it no longer lists Parky and Parky

Fitness is clearly an issue but we hardly have such a talented squad that we can afford to ignore him.

Some people Astound me when they don’t even know he isn’t even registered
Some people astound me by thinking they know everything.
McGeady is registered, confirmed by pretty much everyone else and Nick Barnes this evening. Just needs to be given a squad number. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.
Not disputing the fact he may not be fit etc
But he IS registered to play for the first team.
