Any news on if he is likely to make it?
Didn’t get on the plane
Cannot see him playing. Ross said he needs total rest for it to heal. Plus the injections to ease the pain seem to of stopped working
Will be later this week before we ( and Charlton ) have any idea
Doesn’t look likely. I imagine they’ll be doing everything from now til then to get him on the pitch like
Put him on the bench incase needed
JR: Aiden McGeady will have a chance of being involved in the final. The fact the first leg was last Saturday and the final is just over two weeks from that game, gives him that extended break again. We'll assess him in the week leading up to the final
Course he’ll play. Maybe not from the start, but he’ll be on the bench.
Great news. He makes others play better also
Ross hopeful on McGeady
It's in the echo would copy and paste it but my phone has decided not to do that
Why not announce now that he wont make it. Gives everyone a chance to get ready for the line-up without him. Then if he did manage to make it would be a massive bonus on Sunday and a huge blow to Charlton.
Jack Ross is hopeful of having Aiden McGeady available for the Play-Off Final against Charlton Athletic next Sunday.
The Republic of Ireland winger was forced to sit out of both semi-final legs against Portsmouth, despite initially being named in the starting XI to face Pompey in the first leg at the Stadium of Light last Saturday.
But Ross believes the extended rest will help McGeady, who has been struggling with a foot injury sustained at Accrington Stanley at the start of April.
“Aiden will have a chance of being involved in the final,” he said.
“Obviously, the fact that the first leg was last Saturday, and the final is just over two weeks from that game, gives him that extended break again.
“That was part of the incentive tonight, knowing that if we got to the final, we could have a player of Aiden’s quality back available.
He continued: “It’ll give him a good break and then we’ll assess him in the week leading up to the final.”
JR said something like it will have been 2 weeks rest for him by the time the final comes around and they are hopeful that he can play some part
Norwich did that with Ruel Fox in the 92 FA Cup semi final. The roar from their end when he came out for the warm up was huge. He was shite though as was clearly nowhere near fit
Probably the echo site giving your phone aids mate.
The difference between going up and not imo. If he can play without making the injury worse then we should play him imo. If it's just pain management I'm sure it can be worked around....even if it's a twenty minute cameo.
Club should be saying he’s definitely out and spring a surprise with the lineup on the day if he’s ready to go.
He will be under par and will also be targeted.
Not a bad thing to bring him on later on
He’ll only get kicked to fuck if he starts
We got through without him. Stick with the winning team.
Separate names with a comma.
