We don’t have the luxury of leaving creative players like McGeady on the bench
It was obvious he should have been on at 60 mins yesterday
Coleman fucked up

He's a typical winger

Great one game shite rest of the season

He's a shittier version os sess

I think he will get his chance this week, whether he takes it or not, that is another matter. Yes he was playing poorly and cost us possession time and time again. No different to N'Dong yesterday. If it wasn't for a bit of good fortune, he would have cost us more points yesterday.

His form dipped no doubt
However he is one player that can create something from nothing , has skill to beat a man & has a decent shot on him - also there’s been plenty of times this season he’s put quality balls into the box & there’s been no- one busting a gut to get on the end of them
We don’t have anyone in the squad that can do what McGeady does - he won’t get his form back sitting On his arse

Is Thornton still playing for Gateshead

It's good we have a manager making the informed subs, than the fans.
Considering Wilson , a center half , was pushed into midfield where we weren’t creating anything , against 10 men, aye mate I’m thinking right out the box here

Correct, turning into his own box twice while surrounded.

More reason to bring Ndong on innit, forced into putting Wilson there who can barely muster movement, so he can help him out?

The lad has a huge amount of ability, but sadly he fails to deliver on a weekly basis. Ultimately, it’s the reason he never played for a big club during his peak years.

He’s fallen out with Coleman. After the Reading game, where he was subbed, he told CC he didn’t have a clue. CC said I may not but I’m picking the team, and he hasn’t played since.

He’s also been a little twat in training.

I trust Coleman on this one. You have to be prepared to put a shift in and win the ball back high up the field. Wromg attitude and not doing near enough to merit a starting place.

But we didn't throw more forwards on. He made like for like substitutions. It led to the win at Burton and a win last week. It didn't lead to a win or a defeat yesterday. The overanalysis, with the benefit of hindsight of his substitutions, is really odd. People now seem to be expecting his substitutions to win every game, and if they don't, it's open season for the tactical geniuses, armed with hindsight and a keyboard.

It's not odd, it's just a bit of a debate. Some people think we made the wrong choice of substitution yesterday, it's that simple really.

And McGeady isn't even one of the best players in the Championship.
One is a luxury and one is a neccesity to their sides

I know, but the two aren't mutually exclusive.

He has provided a few of goals and assists this season. His form has dipped but nowhere near as bad as you and others make out. Skillful players who take a risk will lose the ball, it shouldn't lead to goals if you have a half decent defence which we now have.[/QUOTE]
.
Should have gone to Specsavers

Agree we need hard work, it's part of the reason we have kept 3 clean sheets.

However, against a negative 10 men we needed inspiration not perspiration. Horses for courses.

I agree with this. Think we needed more composure and experience in the final 3rd last 20 mins, especially when Gibson went off. We kept trying to knock a 30 yard ball in behind. We barely got the ball to Maja and Asoros feet to get them in the game anarl. I'd have taken Wilson off and went 4 at the back.

I understand why Coleman did what he did though, last thing we needed was too take too many risks and conceding to the bottom side on the counter. Would be interested to know whether or not he'd have done the same if we weren't playing a side just below us.

Not saying the result would be any different mind, we held Wolves to a 0-0 draw with 10 men and they're top

The bit i quoted you, is 20/20 hindsight.

Are you still saying Ndong wasn't the right inclusion, even though he is vying for the spot Gibson vacated?
So we change a midfielder for a midfielder agaunst 10 man bottom of the league? Very blinkered view. I've said it was the wrong change all along, so not sure why you keep asking. It cant be hindsight when I said it when it was happening. We needed something to happen and thats why I think Mcgeady was such a blatant choice to bring on. Thats not hindsight which you keep blabbing on about, that's watching a game and having an opinion on what we need at that time to win the game.

I'd play him every single second of every game for the rest of the season just so we don't have to watch Gibson or Honeyman take set pieces again. Unreal how bad they were yesterday.

Know. Asked him what was wrong with him he has to start playing and has said he would rather not as heart and heads not in it, hence why he come out and said centre half and if asked the manager has excuse not to play without any fuss as he’s not good enough to play there. By all accounts he’s the best centre midfielder at the club. No heart
If that is true, they surely have grounds fir dismissal
