It wasn’t like

The bullying stuff wasn't made up at all! Mcgeady was an utter ****, the youths despise him. There's no getting away from that. People will deny it and dispute it, but at the time he was a really bad influence and, as shit as Parky is, the Mcgeady call was right at the time.

Mcgeady seems to be in a better place now and willing to contribute so I'm happy for him to be back, but those on here claiming he's been some kind of victim are completely wrong. I'd post my source if I could, but all was said in confidence.

How bad was the bullying tho, were the young’uns just soft as shite.
I’ve only worked in engineering, and as I suppose in any walk of life there will be banter that will go to far, lads that canna tak a joke. Surely even the young’uns in the team should be able to stand up for themselves on the route in the big bad world.

So the fans knew Parkinson was the wrong option before he signed, the players knew he was the wrong option a week after he signed, yet Donald took over a f***ing year to realise he was the wrong option.

Take it as a sign Donald, you are not up to running this club and that added with your constant lies means you should just leave this club, ENTIRELY and never come back, no one wants you here either, take your small percentage you want to retain, shove it up your arse and fuck off out of Sunderland.

Its obviously bullshit as if it was true you wouldn't banish him to train with the ones he was supposed to be bullying

How do you know it's true?

Not defending the appointment of Parkinson in any way but you have to realise that this is Aiden McGeady's version of events. The man who has a history of falling out with managers and officials of clubs he's at. We'll never know what actually happened here but I'm pretty sure both sides will have been at fault and it won't be as simple as McGeady is making out here.

Not watched it for a while but doesn't he just say that O'Nien is one of those players who plays up to the fans. Which in fairness he does
That comes after the comments Lewis says about how McGeady would have jibes at O'Nein, along the lines of McGeady always wants to come across as the smartest so didn't like that O'Nein was doing things like constantly reading books around the AoL.

There seems to be a lot of revisionism in this thread where people are completely ignoring all of Morgan"s comments.

There is a paywalled Sunderland echo article there McGeady has come out and distanced himself from how Morgan described him.

You generally only do that when someone makes you sound like a ****

Can't see a manager banishing one of his top players for nowt. Possibly players were not to upset , unlike Ross, when he was sacked but there was issues.

Hope Johnson gets him playing again and sharing the ball more. That part he has to realise.

I'm certain it's just comments taken from his more recent interview with Si Ferry. I'll try and dig a link out later

I think it is more a great advert for the unfiltered podcast, as this isn't the first time they've been very open with the players about their feelings currently.

For some reason they don't seem to have the SAFC PR team governing their output.
great point
Most likely scenario: Parkinson should never have been appointed to such a big club and handled the situation awfully. Also, Mcgeady is a bellend and his behaviour wasn't acceptable.

Proper league one bullshit which epitomises the Donald regime.

The sooner we move on from shite like this, the better.
Here’s the answer.

I believe the bit about none of the players going to see him when he was sacked. I said as they came out afte half-time of the MK Dons games that there was something seriously wrong. Power and Leadbitter, in particular just looked sick of their lives.
Also, no one can argue with McGeady saying we weren't playing football. It was appalling.

I was told by a youth player before this happened that McGeady was a bit of a tit with them- would blank them in the corridors and laugh at them when they lost.
Atill doesn't take away what an utter embarrassment the Phil Parkinson appointment was to SAFC.

The word bullying is ridiculous. Fair enough he hammered O’Nien and there was issues there but f***ing hell we were absolutely woeful as a team and not everyone’s going to get along. You need a strong dressing room to address everything but from everything I’ve heard we lost Cattermole, had no real leaders and everyone is quiet as fuck.

I’m sure there’s more to this story from both sides.

What stands out for me is the that the club have presumably sanctioned the release of this podcast which again shows us up as a tinpot organisation under the current regime.

Whatever has gone on you don’t allow a current player at the club to badmouth a very recent former manager whilst he’s still employed by the club.

He's right that it was appalling, but McGeady also loved Simon Grayson, who also played appalling football and was as out of his depth as anyone before or since. I'd love for McGeady to help lead us to promotion, but I'm hoping that that will be the last we see of him. He's too much hassle.

Does he have an history of doing that?
