Mavrias

Aye, might do. Seeing as that is exactly what I've been saying and you haven't exaggerated at all.

It's a funny thing like. If I had come on here and said about how I'd been told by a friend how brilliant Mavrias is and how he is going to completely steal the show this season, I bet there'd have been a very different response.
Well that may have something to do with all the other negative shit you post, just a thought like, but, I'll reserve judgement until I see the lad play in full a match, I've seen clips on you tube, the kids seems to have a good touch, a little bit of pace and a good sense of the game, add to that an impressive record for one so young, so that tends to leave me in a positive frame of mind on this one and believe me, i trust my own judgement more than your mates.

Wowowowowowow. I have just been slated for taking into account my friends (informed) opinion on him, yet you are getting excited over andy78 saying that we should be excited by him when, with no disrespect to andy, he has seen a lot less of him than the person I'm trusting?

Jesus

I agree you are perfectly entitled to your opinion. I'm not going to slate your thoughts on the lad.
Personally I haven't seen him play and have never heard anyone discus him as can be imagined for a young lad playing in the Greek league.
The fact you have a friend who has given you information on him allows you to have an informed opinion. Just be careful though just in case your mate is a Greek version of SBC.

He'll be really good for us IMO, though I doubt we'll see much of him in the first 6 months. Will mainly be a sub and the odd cup appearance, it'll be a year or two down the line when he'll really be expected to shine.

So 2 years from now him, Moberg-Karlsson and Watmore all at the top of their game and battling for wide places, Guaccherini sold for £30-50 mill, maybe Johnson still around too, or maybe 2 of the above sold for £15-20 mill apiece?

Exactly, that's your opinion mate, you've seem him play, you've read up about him and formed it with a decent base of knowledge. Fine.

I've done exactly the same, whilst also been shared the views of a mate, and I'm getting crucified:lol: love the optimism of the board though, makes a change

I don't get what you are saying. I'm telling you what I've been told and what I have seen, I haven't said that he is completely terrible and will be a massive failure. Why do you care so much?

clap or be damned mate as you have an opinion that doesnt involve praising the player you are clearly a mag/wum.

Genuinely appreciate that post mate, nice to have a bit of balance and subtlety

As a result of people not really seeing him, and those that have it is against opposition that is of no reflection of what he (or the rest) will encounter in the Premier League week on week.

We will just have to wait and see but one thing is certain, a number of these signings won't work out, law of averages. The partially understandable salivation that is going on will have to be tempered if they do not all appear to be superstars after the first 6 games.

One thing in our favour is the fact that the nucleus of the new signings have been given time to work with the coach which will hopefully allow us to get off to a decent start.

Well said.

We paid up to £13m for Wickham, the pressure on him was massive because of the price and lack of forwards. This lad can be given time because of his price, especially as he'll have Johnson and Giaccherini ahead of him.

Well at least he'll cost much less, if he was British I bet he'd cost at least 6M.

Hope the lad flourishes and develops as a player under PDC and the team. He certainly has more experience of the big occasion matches than any of the UK born members of the squad.

At least, just look at Zaha, he went for £15m and Mavrias has a much better pedigree.

In all fairness, Mavrias is pretty much the equivalent of a young Scottish player at Celtic. Much easier to break into the Greek national team than the English and much easier to play in the Champions League when you play in the Greek league.

Sorry to rock the boat though.

What does shangri la's mate think of zaha though he might be shit.

Haha, class that one mate.
