Matt Clarke

You assume they'll have it all to spend on new players.
They have no parachute payments to help them plus small gate revenue from 15000 ave home crowd.
Plus, u think KJ will buy well?
Even if they spend half they could buy a couple of very good players.

All of it will be available in theory. We've operated an 'eat what we kill' policy under the Trust and now the Eisners, which means all fees received can be spent.

But there's a huge caveat...we will not break our wage structure which is coming under a bit of scrutiny from fans at the moment.

Think how many multi-million pound transfers you can do, when you are only prepared to pay them £5k per week maximum.

As for Clarke, he was the best defender in this league by a million miles. He will play for England - he's the next off the production line of quality ball playing centre halves.

We need two new centre backs with Whatmough out for the first half of the season, leaving only Burgess and Matt Casey. Paul Downing is going to be one of them on a free. I'm expecting us to go full Tilt for the other...

We've got a few centre halves you can have... for free.

So now Portsmouth probably have more money than us to spend on transfers and wages at a time when Doncaster are offering better terms to players than us.

What a time to be alive.
voices in your head been a ctive again? doncaster bought a reserve player from us we didnt want-doesnt sound like it will strenghten them-and they had to pay for him-we got a profit on a signing-we have only doen that a handful of times in the past decade.
pompey are weaskened by losing a good poayer-and even if they spend all of that on fees-its less than we soent last year on fees-and this year we have more money.

Honestly man, the doom mongers and pessimists on here boil my watta, most don't even bother attending games and putting their own money in to the Safc coffers.
It's the 19th of June.
A takeover of sorts is going on, soon to be sorted, putting us in an even stronger position financially.
Wholesale buying and selling is not required this time around.
There is a decent core there already on which to build.
Ffs calm down all you dwfs out there:oops:

Do you think Kenny Jackett is the right man? Didn't he get pelters towards the end of the season?
He's the right man if he gets us promoted this year, if not he'll be gone. Gets stick for our style of play, however its effective and we've improved every year under him. Our run of bad form at the start of the year and our capitulation in the play-offs suggests he may not be able to motivate the team for the big games, but until we plateau o think he's doing alright.

portsmouth have a billioanire owner dont they? i read on here that fi you have one of them ou have loads of moeny to spend..
Owned by his investment company, that also owns Bojack Horseman and Topps playing cards. Not a vanity project, but an investment to build a profitable team for his kids.

That’s good for us then. Surely Burgess is arete at this level, as in, nowt special.

Persistently fouls against the better players in L1 cos he's not good enough. He's the boo boys target anarl usually.

Think he's a bit pissed off with the ground situation. Don't think he realised how difficult it would be to build summat fit 20th century in Portsmouth, let alone the 21st.
