Massive earthquake affecting Turkey and Syria

What aren’t you getting about this? Of course I’d stop it.
I would just like to experience some natural disasters first hand. The fact people were dying wouldn’t really cross my mind. But I’m not wishing them upon anyone.
Saying that, I wouldn’t mind if St James park fell into a sinkhole on a Saturday afternoon.
 agree

Got a lot of friends in Northern Cyprus (Turkish side) from living there on and off over the last few years. One of the stories of a school netball team visiting Turkey at the time of the earthquake is heartbreaking.

School netball trip

Some of the footage coming out of the moment the earthquake struck is just crazy/ hard to comprehend. Looking at the size of the area affected and the way many of the buildings pancaked, I wouldn’t be surprised if the death toll would be more than triple what it is now.

I don’t get what people’s problem is with this. I know nothing about this earthquake. Haven’t seen a single news report. I just said it would be amazing to experience something like this, crucially, if you weren’t in danger, just to witness the power of nature. I’m sure it’s completely horrific if you’re involved, but I was talking about viewing the actual quake as it happened. I have no desire to view the casualties and carnage left behind. It’s not a sadistic thing.
If I was in Jurassic Park and the dinosaurs were eating people, I’d be Dickie Attenborough going “fascinating!” and taking notes, oblivious to everyone else’s terror.
To be fair to you. You are probably the most honest unfiltered person on here.
I get the sentiment but you must realise it will be strange to others. Maybe you don’t. People have bits tgat don’t work fully in their brains. Empathy is not one of your strengths.
