Initial contact has been made, Martinez is to discuss it with his team of people today. I guess at this stage though we will hopefully have contacted several possible candidates about the potential job and he will be one of many that has been contacted.

Nothing too concrete yet, but it appears he's under consideration.

I would imagine we're just sounding out potential candidates at the minute. As Martinez is out of work he is obviously going to be very interested.

Good manager is Robbie Martinez. Don't let the opinions of Everton fans put you off. He did well there first season and then suffered from player mutiny last season.

He might be but, he isn't what we need. Allardyce started to make us solid and harder to break down. We need someone who can slip in and take over from where he left off. The reason we've been in the shit so often is because we have a new manager with new ideas every 5 minutes.
Did you see the poll on there?
http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport...-sam-allardyce-here-s-eight-options-1-8011926

5% of the 1000+ people voted for Martinez:confused:
And 2% for Hodgson:eek: Are they mags?????.........
Got to be.

Nick Barnes just tweeted that Martinez's names in the frame should Sam leave, more so than moyes! Fuck that!

IF Short wants to see his investment truly go down the pan, then appoint Martinez.
If he wants a steady hand on the tiller and to see steady progress made, appoint Moyes.
It is that simple.

We ignored Birmingham fans about Bruce and it turned out exactly how they said it would. We ignored Villa fans about O'Neil and it turned out exactly how they said it would.

Going off what all the Everton lads on this board say I don't want Martinez anywhere near Sunderland. Plus it would be an appointment that made zero sense anyway

So, exactly the type of decision and appointment that, as a club, SAFC are likely to make
