He was good at his peak, but that was a while ago. Terrible the last few times I've listened to him.

Remember him starting out on yorkshire TV in the 70's . He was Dougal to Keith Macklins Father Ted on the sunday footy show .leaving sky sports,
Half that if they are not a manGreat commentator over the years. Whoever replaces him will be given 3 or 4 minutes to impress by the lynch mob on here.
Christ I was feeling happy this morning and now you’ve made me watch thisSuperb in his day. I'd suggest not watching any further after approximately 2mins 50...
Bit of a cull at Sky Sports, only 1 female football reporter left now doesn’t seem in keeping with Skys promise to be more inclusive. Hope they aren’t being replaced by yewtubers.
Hope illness isn’t the reason Martin Tyler had left noticed he pulled out of the last week of the season with illness. Seems strange he didn’t get a send off, not a Jake Humphrey type but some sort of acknowledgment.

EXCLUSIVE: Sky Sports AXE half of their football reporting team
AHEAD OF THE GAME: Sky Sports have axed half of their football reporting team in a brutal cost-cutting exercise which could also see the exit of veteran interviewer Geoff Shreeves.www.dailymail.co.uk
Seb Hutchinson although don’t think he’s transgender.Probably replaced by a young black transgender.
Sky will still win enough packages, its going to 4 packages with 60 extra games. They've let loads go to cut costs. Can't see them getting the next Premier League TV deal as they've evidently overspent on the current one as have BT who have been rebranded after merging with Warner Bros.
Amazon, DAZN or someone to get the next one?
Thank god we no longer need to listen to this forced, crappy catchphraseAND IT'S LIVE
That's the one all Sunderland fans remember. Great commentary in the build up, describing the goal itself and then his summary of what had just happened in the immediate aftermath.Back to Jiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Was he the commentator who said something like "where else would you find such fans dedicated to the cause", possibly after we were relegated at Maine Road? That's the one all Sunderland fans remember. Great commentary in the build up, describing the goal itself and then his summary of what had just happened in the immediate aftermath.
First class commentator, even now...he'll be missed.
He’s the last of classic commentators I’d say, with motion, Davies etc, but have to disagree on stelling is the face of football, he presents a result show on a channel hardly anyone watchesRegardless of what you think of his recent years he's been the voice of the Premier League like Stelling was the face of football
There seems to be a few going at sky sports. Are they clearing the decks before the lose the premier League TV rights?
