Some people appear to have forgotten our time under Mick Buxton. Not only was it negative and ineffective, but the manager went out of his way to criticise the supporters if they complained to the Football Echo about it.

Was paid about a thousandth of what this bullshitter got mind.

I personally thought it was a bit arrogant what he was saying.

O'Neill wasn't particularly a great player, he just happened to be managed by a genius manager in his prime.

That is a very very arrogant comment

He was an excellent player, and was a big reason for Northern Ireland making a world cup, captaining the side

I saw that and whilst I have a lot of time for O'Neill, I'm afraid he's shit at top trumps. Comparing a European Cup victory (he actually only played in one of the two finals) with winning the World Cup is a bit of a stretch.

Good spot. He sat on the bench in 1979, the f***ing bullshitting little leprechaun. Wonder if Monty goes round boasting of his Champions League medal?

during my supporting of the lads from 66 onwards, the season after he kept us up has to be the most dull and uninspiring footy I have had the misfortune to witness - wasnt it something like 14 attempts on goal in the first 10 games - dreadful and he never gave AJ a chance to get off to a decent start in his SAFC career.
Great on tv, but a disappointment for us - wonder what would have happened if Samba's perfectly legal goal had stood in his first game which would have put us 2-0 down ??

Fuck me, I do not believe you are as old as you say they are if you really mean that. Embarrassing.

I think it was confirmed by many of the players & staff when he left IIRC

It really wasn't at all

He doesn't take training, and never has done at any club, and he has had a very very successful career is a manager, so to think that this method is lazy, is just absolutely mental.

\No link, it was only PDC who said out, and we all know how credible his words are....

Played in all the rounds leading up to the Euro final that he was on the bench for which is how he got the medal.

aye was a canny bit of banter with cannavaro. telling him and viera that he has a european cup winners medal which neither of them have. top bloke but did nothing really for safc.
He also felt the need to point that out to the other pundits at the last World Cup, I find him embarrassing as a pundit, he comes over defensive and uncomfortable.

Exactly, we were totally lifeless.
