He's been on top form, a great pundit.

Was over the moon when we got him, shame he put zero effort in.

Comes across as senile old fool to me takes an age to get his point across and by that time people's lost intrest in what he's saying before he gets to the punchline

during my supporting of the lads from 66 onwards, the season after he kept us up has to be the most dull and uninspiring footy I have had the misfortune to witness - wasnt it something like 14 attempts on goal in the first 10 games - dreadful and he never gave AJ a chance to get off to a decent start in his SAFC career.
Great on tv, but a disappointment for us - wonder what would have happened if Samba's perfectly legal goal had stood in his first game which would have put us 2-0 down ??
Absolutley spot on. I've had a season tkt since 95 and that season was dreadful. The most full I can remember.QPR & Norwich at home spring to mind.

I personally thought it was a bit arrogant what he was saying.

O'Neill wasn't particularly a great player, he just happened to be managed by a genius manager in his prime.

From what I've seen of him, he's been getting a similar treatment to what Jimmy Hill did when doing the punditry alongside Ginola and Hansen in France '98, where his opinions were clearly so far out of touch with the game that they were just sat there laughing at him. The difference being however that Hill was indeed clueless and it ended his television career. O'Neill's got a lot more about him, but I do think the others are lacking in respect somewhat, and Chiles is just a sackless piss taking bastard who doesn't really know his arse from his elbow.

Did get him too late, true.

At least it was given a shot and we had our coveted manager for a while. I changed to preferring a good coach over a 'manager' after his time here.

Chiles is just a sackless piss taking bastard who doesn't really know his arse from his elbow.
joke is on him after his weather patter on the coverage of the Miami friendly- absolutely pitiful

Aye, great talker poor manager. We were the most boring team in the premiership when he was in charge.

He scored for Distillery against Barcelona in the CWC before either of those 2 were born and when Chiles was still in short trousers. Fair whack to him.

It all comes down to Chiles not being very good at his job and asking the wrong things. O'neill has a lot of knowledge and if you ask the right questions will give a good insight into the game.

Always thought he talked sense. Now can't listen to him without thinking he's just a massive hypocrite. Apparently he evokes the same reaction in Villa fans.

Some people appear to have forgotten our time under Mick Buxton. Not only was it negative and ineffective, but the manager went out of his way to criticise the supporters if they complained to the Football Echo about it.
