Is MON performing to the level he should be?

Yep. I don't think there are many managers out there that would be doing better with what we have. They may play a different style but I'm not arsed about that. We're trying to rebuild slowly and I'll give him time to do that.

Re: MON has lost the dressing room

Either that or he's just a poor motivator. The only thing that leads to us playing well is going behind. We rarely, if ever, come out at the start of any half looking fluid or dangerous.

Hang on hang on, he has lost the dressing room but we came back from 2 down? Doesn't make sense.

The old smb logic eh brilliant!

Ok mate that's your opinion. Am happy that your happy to watch this dross and zero improvement over a couple of seasons but fair enough

He hasn't been here a couple of seasons. I'm happy to see him keep us up whilst getting rid of the dogshit and replacing them with better players.

Makes perfect sense. Not many people like getting embrassed, going goals down tends to fire teams up. Though to be fair one goal came from a pen and the other basically came entirley from Sess so it wasn't even like the team were even fired up as a whole anyway

Rebuilding is going well mind. Spent thirty odd million and two players out of that lot have looked ok/one very decent. The rest no better than the players they are meant to be replacing.

How does it make perfect sense.?

So Jol has lost his dressing room? As both goals from both teams were very similar and they lost a 2 goal cushion.

If a team goes 2 down under a manager they don't show fight as we have seen lots of times before.

100% behind MON

I don't know about Fulham, don't watch them

I was probably being abit cheeky with the thread title but either way a manager who needs his players to go behind to be motivated is a pretty poor manager imo. And we have basically only looked motivated out of the dressing room about six times in a year, City away last season and home, Reading home, Southamption Away, West ham home and first half Wigan away. Name me any other match in the past year.

Fact is the dog shit we have should be performing better.

Why should they? Which other teams would have to start Gardner, Colback and Larsson every week? Which other teams have reserves as quality as Bardsley, Vaughan and Kilgallon? Our central defenders can't pass a ball to save their lives, are slow and old. Until these things change then we'll struggle and we will change them in the summer and look a much better team for it. We're completely rebuilding and doing it slowly instead of ending up with a load of shite like we did in the summer of 2011.

100% this.

Isn't the job of the manager to *manage* his players? If he can't manage his resouces and needs to buy new ones he should never have taken this job. He didn't need to give most of them extensions either, which he has. And he's bought only two players out of the several he's bought who are notable improvements on this dross anyway, over three windows, it's not like he's lacked resources to improve competion. He's also *shipped out* players who would be competing for those spots. We start with several of them becuase MON has literally sent away players who would have offered competiont for those places. Sure it all makes sense to you though.

And if I managed a school team who couldn't at least *improve* on the absolute basics of passing and moving with the ball I'd be embrassed, let alone a PL team. What the fuck do they do in training all week? Why bother? there is no improvement what so ever.

100% this for me

He is managing his players. We're 3 points off 10th.

Which players have been given extensions?

Fletcher, Johnson, Alfred and Graham are all better players that those they replaced.

Which players that he has sent away are good enough? I can't think of any.

It's pointless debating anything with you as your mind is already made up.

This. MoN defenders are on very thin ground IMO because (a) his transfer dealings (he's had money some teams can only dream of) haven't improved us and (b) our style of play and team structure is awful. Even our set pieces are dismal, there's no innnovation or anything.

He looks increasingly old, stale and finished.

If we've gotta take sides then this for me.

Fletcher - better than Ji
Graham - better than Campbell
Johnson - better than Elmo
Alfred - better than Meyler.

4 out of 4 improvements so far.

14 other teams in the PL have spent similar money to us in the same period as O'Neill.

Our set-pieces are abysmal.
