Three years ago, Martin O'Neill's transfer business consisted of Carlos Cuellar and Louis Saha until mid-August. Then we spent £14 million on Steven Fletcher.

Good luck, Leicester.

f***ing Saha man, he was beyond finished when he came here, at the time I thought it was a very astute transfer but then I saw him try and run ........

. So did I.

"Aye good bit of experience up front and was decent for Everton". Christ I was so wrong.

As a Leicester fan I think he would be the best manager for the job.

When the job came up names like Klopp and Hiddink were mentioned, they would not come to a club like ours.

Being a bit older the youth don't see this.

As for O'Neill the way we play is exactly the way we played all those years ago, that's with the two wing backs.

It's a no brainer for me,the set up is ideal he doesn't need change anything tactically.

The players would be comfortable straight away, going back five years we had a so called big name in Paulo Sousa,he tried to change us from a hard to beat side to more possession team in six weeks,he got sacked after we lost 7-1 at Portsmouth.

How much was that down to short, its around the time he seemed to pull the plug seemed the relationship between him and mon went south pretty quickly, did short gan back on promises of funds when he signed.

Either way i would worry so much about his signings if i were a lcfc fan id be more worried about the f***ing dire mind numbing horrible football he resorted to here and if he repeats it.

Doubt he recommended Danny Graham like.

Some managers do well at certain clubs.

Eddie Howe at Burnley was awful, then went back to Bournemouth, say no more!

I don't know what wrong at Sunderland or Villa, yet when you mention Zaha,as good as he is,he has only done well for Palace.

It looks like he spent the money and it didn't come off, which happens

The way I see it,is he could walk into the club change nothing tactically and hopefully kick on,added spice is that you are first up

I thought MON would be a perfect fit for us..................he's gone man, finished, the day before yesterdays man

Shit is about to get wild! The return of Mr part time/Mr Containment!

Need to win ? Nah fuck it. Let's just retreat against 10 men and camp out in our own half.
i genuinely once saw him screaming and raving at a player who i think might have been Sessegnon for taking the ball wide and passing a player on the wing, wasnt just a shout he was screaming and red in the face

Has anyone actually said this like? To me it looked like we were free falling towards relegation when he was sacked. Add to this our 'style of play' under him, the fact that we offered barely any attacking threat and barely crossed the half way line and the money he wasted on transfers I don't think anyone can say he wasn't deservedly sacked in all honesty

We have been just as crap since he left but at least we are still in the top league, I very much doubt this would be the case if he had stayed in charge

Even at Villa he was mostly out of touch. Almost all of his signings in his first year there were players who'd worked for him at Celtic. That and the money available papered over the cracks but he was increasingly out of touch and couldn't judge a player like he used to, and his tactics and style are a decade out of date

Bullshit. He spent £24m on 2 players then £10m on two 5 months later.

Sssssssssssshhhhhh man

Problem was, he didn't have a plan B when Wolves wanted too much for Fletcher, and he had no ability to judge a player to make astute supporting signings to go with his big names. It would be like me trying to pick a line up for this year's Glastonbury based on the contents of my ipod with nothing from the last twelve years on it

he spent the last 6 months at Sunderland with us camped on the edge of our 18 yard box. That isn't the Martin O'Neill of years gone by. He was totally and utterly clueless. I know for a fact Pearson didn't have you lot camped in defence so he would change things and it wouldn't be pleasant. Bloke's a dinosaur. Bad news for ANYBODY that appoints him.
