Alex Neil got Hamilton promoted then left before Christmas the following season, before the gloss wore off and when the first offer came along - sound familiar? Canning took over as player manager and after a really dodgy start, he kept them up and then did the same for the next 4 years. Almost 30% win rate at an almost amateur club in a division where 50% of your games are against Rangers, Celtic, Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen, is pretty damn good. He left to get his badges and the following season Hamilton immediately went down. Not saying he’s great, but he’s record at Hamilton is a lot more impressive that Alex Neil’s and far from dismal.Only looked at his record, which showed a low win% and a boat load of goals conceded.
Didn’t know the the circumstances behind it. I’ll trust you know better than I.
Well, hopefully he can get them playing well tomorrow and maybe Rotherham also.
Well there is that. But it appears him and Neil stayed back at Stoke after the game last week so I'd quite happily see the club tell him where to go.After tomorrow. Rather take my chances with him tomorrow rather than the other two.
As an ex-manager of Hamilton, who's to say he hasn't got his eyes on the job himself? Not being a smart arse, it’s pretty obvious. He’s our assistant Head Coach, and although he was recommended by Neil, he’s never been part of Neil’s coaching staff before, and he won’t be leaving just because Neil leaves. Any of our supporters who keep up to date with what’s happening at the club would know this.
Circumstances would be Hamilton in the SPL.Only looked at his record, which showed a low win% and a boat load of goals conceded.

Correct. Who’s to say that he wasn’t recruited as part of Neil’s succession plan. It’s what used to work well for Liverpool. Might explain why the club don’t seem too panicked at the moment. As an ex-manager of Hamilton, who's to say he hasn't got his eyes on the job himself?
Yes. Betis, Celtic, Preston, Leicester and Aberdeen. Whilst he was getting his badges. He joined at the same time as Neil, so who’s to say whether or not his impact was bigger than Neil's on recent performance?Didn't he also travel all over Europe visiting clubs and improving his coaching experience
Think you might be his agent.Correct. Who’s to say that he wasn’t recruited as part of Neil’s succession plan. It’s what used to work well for Liverpool. Might explain why the club don’t seem too panicked at the moment.

I’m finding it fascinating that most of the people who are having total meltdowns because Neil is leaving, have never even heard of the guy who has been Assistant Head Coach and doing all of the day to day coaching since the middle of February.Think you might be his agent.
I’d rather Dave the Rave and Shaun Middleton took charge for a game than Proctor and Dodds, tbh.
wouldn't surprise me, whatever is the cheapest optionWin or draw tomorrow and Canning could just land the job . . .
In fact, he could land it anyway.
what a mess......Norwich are fkn certainties tomorrow
absolute certaintiesIf we weren’t the early kick off I’d have lumped Norwich onto my acca
This 100% ^^^^Obviously don’t want Dodds and Proctor in charge, but don’t want Canning either. How’s Canning going to fire those players up tomorrow and say “Fuck Neil, let’s prove him wrong and go out there and show him how much of a mistake he’s made” when it’s f***ing obvious Canning will be in the car straight after the match on his way to Stoke himself…
No we are not. We’re going to get relegated
