Martin Bain Interview on Safc.com

The things I took from it are...
1) Moyes is here for the long term(right decision IMO).
2) Although he didn't actually say it, I think we are going to knock the concerts and all that shite on the head. Mentioned a couple of times about focusing all the commercial stuff towards things that related to the football side of the business and cutting other things out.
3) Sounds like him and Moyes might be doing talk-ins and actually start interacting with the fans. A good move IMO.
4) The policy now is to sign young players and then sell them on for a profit.

If the two lads from Man United are the quality of the young lads we are signing then not only are we going to fail to make a profit on these youngsters, they will get us relegated too. Great in principle to bring in youngsters to supplement a decent side and then sell them as they hit the heights having been brought along at the right pace but to fill the team full of young inexperienced prospects will make us a certainty to go down.

It's almost pointless putting these sorts of things out at the moment because some people just won't be happy until the next win. You can argue that's totally fair but it's clear that there's a longer term vision going on now. I'm glad.

I'll admit to being in that group of some people. I'm probably just impatient and reactionary though, because even then I don't envisage any long term hapiness. Oh! Woe.

Very impressed by Bain's interview.

Said all the right things but with a level of insight.

Of course actions are the most important thing, but this is a different level to the shit Byrne came out with.

How anyone can take Bain seriously is beyond me,was he not involved I'm the Rangers fiasco? As for Moyes I can't think of one positive since he arrived, signings, tactics absolutely abysmal.
A few well chosen words from these two clowns mean nothing.

I think people are taking this all way too seriously ...... this was nowt more than a bit of a chat with a few supporters.

The way people are carrying on you'd think this was the 2 of them on the pitch with a microphone.

The microphone reminded me of Delia Smith for some reason.

Sounds like Bain is buttoning things up and preparing for the relegation (if only for contingency purposes - but...)

No more extraneous spending or non-essential costs incurred, outlining the workforce reduction plans for the mass lay-offs, etc.

I notice how the low paid get paid off, while the fuckers who could relegate us still pick up their thousands a week..

Thing is have you actually bothered to check Bain's involvement with Rangers ?

I'll save you the 2 minute research with something from his Wiki -

On 6 May 2011, Rangers F.C. was sold by David Murray, the majority shareholder, to Craig Whyte. As part of an independent panel set up to represent 27,000 minority shareholders in the sales transaction, Bain refused to agree to the sale and was subsequently suspended by the new owner. Bain resigned in June 2011 and raised an action in the Court of Session in relation to a breach of his employment contract but abandoned his damages claim in March 2012.[4] It transpired in an SFA tribunal in May 2012 that he presented diligence at the time of the sale to Sir David Murray that proved his stance at the time of the takeover to be the correct one.

Bain was credited with turning Ranger's finances around and a voice of reason during their 'fiasco'.

It's comforting to know that Moyes and Bain go out for a session and a bit sharkin from time to time. I wonder if they get a room each in the Travel Lodge.

Today, Bain gave Gary The Hair an appointment card for an 8:00am appointment first thing on Friday at Ottoman Barbers.

He told him the stuffed animal fur had to go and it best be high and tight or it will be gardening leave.
