Way the club will be run from now on. Funny all these players that refuse to play for us so we have to sell but we're chasing every striker under sun and none of their boys forcing a move. Just think Donald can't handle agents. Couldn't handle McNairs, Asoros, Majas & was rattled by Cattermoles. Agents are having us all over.

No doubt agents have rattled him a bit, but nothing would have stopped those players leaving. I’ve heard bits and pieces about the Maja deal and it sounds like we did well to get 1.5m for him

Good post. Will be interesting come the deadline how good.

So you turn down a good deal on the off chance a high earner will go? Nah!. Thankfully our fans aren't running the club. They would have had the club ruined well before Short did. Spend Spend Spend until you're bankrupt.

It doesn’t have to be the Short method or nothing at all though

Nee chance this will happen. The owners will just ignore it, only got to last another 2/3 hours now.

Far too late.

I’d honestly bid 500k for Tom Eaves. The Gills will sell and he gives us an option upfront

Shoulda done that when the Griggs bids were getting knocked back. Short team deal and double or treble his wages.

We should have had the foresight to realise Donny will need to replace him. Upping your bid 3 hours before the deadline does not help the selling club at all.

Totally agree. Was enjoying watching him develop. Think I've said everything from it. From moment we put public deadline on i said on here we wanted to cash in and now we sold him. I'm dissappointed but think Donald is full of it to an extent so not surprised.

i kind of hoped we'd have just sat tight with him and see where we are end of the season. i feel it most likely he'd have gone to a club in this country and we'd have got not alot less than we got now, we'd have a much better chance of promotion and there'd be an outside chance that if he finished up a great season here with us back in the championship he may well have just stayed.

yes we have money in our pocket now but it's a gamble we've took by selling

I’d be surprised if we haven’t tabled a significantly improved bid for either him or Grigg in the last hour. If Oviedo was on, say, 35k/week - then even if we’re still paying 10 of that whilst he’s on loan, a six month loan has freed up 600k extra just in saved wages.
can't see us paying £3m for Griggs

From what I’ve been told, he was close to signing a contract with a foreign club anyway mate.

More PR spin. Doubt we had any intention to buy a decent striker. All freebies and more examples of Donald running the club on a shoe string.

I honestly don't know but it could be complete garbage or the increased bid might have been well before the time it has been reported.

Would have had him rest of season though ! That's the balancing act I suppose. Not guarantees either way & judgement will be in May.

No there's a balance to be had, but you can't gamble. We're only just getting out of the financial mess created, i don't want the club to do so again. None of us knows the deal done with the EFL to prevent transfer embargo. If we break it by risking and hoping deals go through, which don't. Then get punished for the next summer window. The club would get panned. I suspect the owners are doing a balancing act. But we don't know the financial balancing we have to do.
