Good afternoon Hank, Good afternoon becs, Good afternoon All.

Just the early matches for me today.

Cloughy - The Man who shot Liberty Valance is one of my favourites as well.

A lot of wind about last night and today - not my fault.

I am confused what was Napoleon doing in St Helens?

Be safe my friends. I don't know if many realise that this thread helps a lot of people

Try and keep pure if you don't then keep it quiet.
Fools seldom differ, John, la.

Ah, St Helens, lovely, lovely, St Helens. One day I may tell of The Sefton Arms, the wedding reception that ran out of scran, the motorbike oil on the sheets, the rancid butter, the refusal of a glass of water in a pub & the light going out above the snooker chebble just before the sinking of the final black... but not today, nay, not today....
Afternoon Johnna. Maybe he was into hot pot or some such.

Hair is overrated Marrakesh. The lengths some blokes go to to disguise the fact they’re barldy never fails to amuse me. Trumpy being a case in point.
Hair is a term best reserved to address Jormans. It's also fer losers, me owld marrafans syndrome....

Afternoon all, breaking away from Teams meeting to announce my tickets have arrived, block 104, row 21 seats 55-60.

Running order, is my lad, me, dad, brother, nephew and mam on the end as she has a dodgy bladder.

Think I'll do a Virtual Trafalgar Square on Saturday night, will set of a flare in my garden and splash water about from the bird bath.

Afternoon mate

I like the shooting contest near the beginning where James Stewart's opponent thinks JS missed the coin when in fact he'd shot a hole through the hole in it! I like most of JS's films. One I've not seen in ages which I'd like to see again is The Man Who Shot Liberty Vallance. Three of my favourites in one film: JS, Lee Marvin & The Duke....

See @gluepot if ye need any help claggin' yer syrup back on there, Vic, la....
Cloughy, his book ”the man behind the legend” is a great read. Bomber pilot in WW2

Morning BC

I might not be. Depends how windy it is. Might just take the lads out for another saunter

Morning Rip

Morning Fred. How’s Angus today

Morning b1gals

I don’t think he died in battle marra. Iirc he was exiled to st Helena and died there.
It was a question in the daughters quiz last night, her answer was "his last one", but your right in died in exile

Afternoon all. Nice and peaceful on here today. No arseholes.
It must be true that if they don’t get a response they’ll bugger off somewhere else. Like most unfortunates they seem to have a very limited attention span.
Afternoon Dilli👍, not many swimming /surfing today, they must all be soft😂
Fannies mate.

Morning marra.

Afternoon marra. I'm back safely now.

Durham was weird. I was there at dinnertime. The market square, Claypath and Elvert were deserted. North Road was heaving with loads of young people eating in groups on the pavement. I didn't feel comfortable walking through so I kept my mask on even though it's outside.

Good mornight. Just watched yesterday's game again. A few minor observations: (1) Cathedral's pass that led to Mcgeady's shot (that their keeper did well to save) was exquisite, yet garnered no comment from the Sky summarisers (2) the resulting corner from Jones was beautifully flighted but equally important was Power's dummy run to pull his marker away & leave Wyke in space (O'Nien played his part too in partially blocking Raggett, who looks like he's spent his life in the so-called bear pit) (3) the skill involved in Jones's finish didn't get the praise it deserved (4) Flanagan's attempted clearance was crude but I didn't think it was a pelanty because he got the ball (if you're suggesting it was the follow through that drew the pelanty, you might as well ban tackling, then physical contact of any species, then football in its entirety) (5) Curtis should have had a yella if not a red after his clash with Sanderson: Sanderson was late & rightly took a yella but Curtis raised his hands but went unpunished (5) as I said back in January, Sanderson passes the ball well & moves with elegance: the latter is something you're born with & is a rare quality to be cherished (6) there is a certain elegance too about the way Cathedral moves that puts me in mind of Eric Roy (he's not at that level but he has the natural elegance of motion to do well at this level & perhaps higher: this is a gift that cannot be coached & I'm gratified that Johnson clearly sees it in him & also holds dear that indefinable quality).

Ugly sleep beckons. Adios, amigos & as the Ticos say: Pura Vida!

Had me puzzled for a while with this Cathedral crack, then I
remembered this old song. :-

Enjoy mate have a great day and tak care.
