I'm not taking this seriously. Yet.

From the SAFC website announcing the signing :

SAFC sporting director Lee Congerton said: “Competition for places is healthy and brings out the best in players. We already have a great goalkeeper in Vito Manonne and another one now in Costel.
“Add to this youngster Jordan Pickford, who recently signed a long-term deal and we have a very strong stable of goalkeepers, which is vitally important in the top flight.”

Can't see us asking him to leave to be honest when the aim is to have 2 players per position.

Uninspiring player bought for (relative) buttons has a fantastic season, equally uninspiring replacement acquired, player sold on for a healthy profit.

Fair fucks to the club; if that's the way they're looking to playing it, this one may have worked out nicely.

Shame his contract wasn't a year or two longer, they could have eked a few more quid out of any potential deal.

Pantilimon has only played 7 league games in 3 years, he could be shite or he could be class
rated very highly by the City fans, seen quite a few saying his performances were better than Hart....which is a bit of a misleading compliment as Hart was poor for most of last season, on the whole hes well liked and rated by City fans, but you are right...he could be brilliant for us...or poor, any signing is a huge gamble

Can't blame him for wanting to play in the Champions League if he has asked to leave. He's a good keeper but not an irreplaceable keeper.

Think we will get a max of 3m on the basis of his contracts up next year
You're probably right.
I just wonder why we contracted him for just 2 years. We were seeing him just as a backup at the time or he just saw us as a stepping stone and demanded a short term contract?!

Probably saw him as a risk at the time, he'd only played a handful of games for Arsenal.

Wasn't Westwood the number 1 choice in pre season then got injured or something? can't remember

If he leaves after asking for a move, no doubt some morons on here will still blame the club and it's famous asset stripping.

Selling your assests at a profit isn't a good model at all. That's what Ashley is doing at the mags!
